"Her physical ablilites are identical to Marth's—it must be in her D.N.A."
Now Sakurai, you know that's -- what you just said ain't right.
"We're home, Chewie."If the only differences between Marth and Lucina are gonna be length and tht "tip of the sword" thing I didn't even know about until it was mentioned now I have to say I would have preferred it if she simply was an alt skin for Marth. I hope those rumours from E3 about Marth being heavier this time around are true (and I also hope that Lucina shares Robin's Final Smash) but why didn't Sakurai mention any of that?

Regarding Lucina, I actually didn't catch before that she's supposedly a little shorter. It would be interesting if that meant they didn't simply shrink her down, but instead made her a little smaller while retaining the same range as Marth. It's not a big difference, but having a higher attack-hitbox/character-hitbox ratio would still be a nice little plus.
Regarding Sakurai's bias, I firmly believe that he is, in fact, biased in some ways. ... I don't want to argue about it, really, but still.
The only place I could see a bias is Kid Icarus's enemies in Smash Run, but...
So Ike has blue flames now? Nice that everyone can shut up about that.
He did show Male Robin before Female Robin, and Male Robin appears to be the default one, but that may have been done in order to contrast nicely with Lucina, given that Robin is a spellcaster first and swordfighter second.
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!So on a whim I decided to suss out the ratio of male and female characters so far. Of the thus-far officially-confirmed Smash 4 characters, 22 are male, 8 are female, 4 have an option to play as either male or female, and 2 are ambiguously-gendered (although I feel I should note that those two, Greninja and Charizard, are likely to be male due to gender ratios).
Of the newcomers, there is an equal number of female and male characters (6 are one or the other and 4 can be either).
EDIT: Also I just noticed that marking down Chrom won't actually help me get a bingo. I would then need either both He-Who-Must-Be-Spoiler-Tagged and Ghirahim, or both Snake and Tharja.
EDIT 2: OH GODS I FORGOT TO MARK MII AND CAPTAIN FALCON. I GOT BINGO.

"We're home, Chewie."![]()
Wonderful. Only got 3 or so spots correct, and only in random spaces...
Nice of Sakurai to clear things up now. Now it really does look like Lucy is Smash's Decapre.

Vote. .#Bayonetta 4 SmashHere's a thought.
The Gamexplain guys are pegging Wind spells as Robin's recovery move; blasting the enemy and recoiling upwards.
Taking that into account, do you think the trailer suggests how that move will work? The trailer shows Robin attacking Falcon with wind blasts, and is then seen hovering with some kind of wind aura. Do you think Robin's Wind spells will also bestow a slow-fall effect like Peach's and Game-And-Watch's?
I have a message from another time...Y'know, despite my overall not-liking of clone characters, I'm not minding Lucina too much. Can't say exactly why, but I just don't have much of a problem with her presence. Maybe it's the fact that she has a damn good reason to fight similarly to Marth, and that she was introduced alongside a cool looking brand-new character.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."
We Are With You Zack Snyder
I don't know why people hate clone characters so much. Some of my favorite characters are clones or started out as clones.
The only clone I actually have a problem with is Ganondorf.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureIt's mostly because of the no-effort vibe they tend to give (why give him the same moveset if he has different abilities in his game?), and because others just are the same freaking character (Dr. Mario and Pichu).
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."I don't really have a problem with this particular clone either. She's a great character in her native game, she has a very good reason to fight like Marth, and she took pretty much no development time compared to other newcomers. We basically got a freebie.
What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King Sage

it only really makes sense if chrom is also a marth clone, from a story perspective.
though i have no idea if their fighting styles are comparable, because i havent really thought about it, though chrom likes his arbitrary mid air flips.
