...Cue the Fozzi Bear laugh...
What I don't get is how people thought he was Mewtwo in the first place. At least, I didn't think so when I first saw his trailer and still didn't think so when I rewatched it with the knowledge that his silhouette looked like Mewtwo in mind.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! When I first saw the trailer, I kind of thought it was Mewtwo at first, in the back of my mind. And IIRC, a decent amount of people reacted negatively to the video because it was framed in a way that made it look like it was going to reveal Mewtwo (before it became evident what attack was being charged).
I haven't been adding those entries to the YMMV page, but others have. And an entry or example on that page shouldn't be removed just because someone has a different opinion about it, but only if the example is misusing the trope or if it's inaccurate (or if it's just there to complain without explaining why it's an example of a trope).

Some people (including me) think that Greninja resembled Mewtwo before its reveal. It's in some live reactions. So, it shouldn't be removed from the YMMV page. Simple as that.
What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King SageI thought it was Mewtwo at first as well, but only because not playing X/Y kept me from really being aware of what Greninja looked like, though I could tell Water Shuriken apart from how Melee interpreted Shadow Ball, so it didn't stay for long. Besides, watching it again with hindsight makes it really flipping obvious it wasn't Mewtwo and wasn't even trying to pretend it was (I seriously have seen a few live reactors say that they made them think Greninja was Mewtwo, even after he used Water Shuriken.)

The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!Of course hindsight makes it obvious that it's Greninja. It's hindsight. But it should be noted that Greninja lacked its more apparent features while it was in shadow (mostly, its round pads and the webbing around its fingers) to make it less obvious who it was.
Not to mention, some people haven't played Pokemon X & Y, and even some people who have played it never used or saw Greninja's Signature Move, so they could have suspected the blue energy shuriken to be something other than what it was. That said, the point where it's generally obvious that it wasn't Mewtwo should have been when the energy became a shuriken, along with the water effects (and the point where it's actually obvious is the blink-and-you'll-miss-it hand sign Greninja makes right before charging up).

Yeah, the very quick use of Water Shuriken also makes me confused as to why people though Greninja's silhouette looked like Mewtwo. And I know very little about Pokemon.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!By the way, have we heard anything about Mr. Game & Watch since his appearance in Pac-Man's trailer? I feel like I may have missed some interviews after seeing the Direct and Treehouse streams.
I don't think it's all that confusing once you consider how wanted Mewtwo is. It's pretty easy for people to muddle and deny "the obvious" when they're presented with something that may confirm their desire.

Huh? How does it not look like Water Shuriken? It was blue and had the same effects as water. If I recall correctly, Mewtwo's Neutral Special was purple and looked nothing like water. There's also the hand seal that he did before charging.
There's being upset because you were misled and then there's being upset because you weren't paying attention.

Aura Sphere's also blue, as well as something else that Mewtwo has available. Not hard to confuse the two.
I didn't realize it was Greninja at first.
You know what would be a good way to pass the time? Talking about Blue haired FE charcaters. Blue hair is awesome. What can I say, You Gotta Have Blue Hair.

I was actually thinking of finding some FE Let's Plays after reading about the characters so much here since I'll more than likely not play any of the games myself.note I already found some on the LP Archive, but I wonder if it'd be better to find some video LPs so I can enjoy the series' music (which, based on Brawl's usage, seems to be really good).
I'd recommend against it. Unless the person plays recklessly or planned absolutely everything out in advance (and the random elements make that unlikely), then I don't think it'd be fun to watch a person sit around and mulling their options for 20 minutes before making a move.
I love Fire Emblem but I really don't think it's a game one can LP in the usual way.
