Irony is so twisted.
Fanservice is there as a service to the fans.
But some fans hate fanservice because it's catering to the fans? It seems so dumb...
Unless it's that they think that they sacrifice quality for pandering, but you would think that people would want what you'd expect them to want.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stay![]()
Considering the prevalence of F 2 P fighters with less-than-stellar mechanics, a revival of Joy Mech Fight using Steeldiver's model might work well.
- His attacks generally have better speed and knockback
- Falcon Punch is faster, roughly as fast as in 64
- Falcon Kick is faster and has much less end-lag when it hits a wall
- Knee Smash's sweetspot lasts for several more frames
Actually, this is more of a wishlist...

"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"A list that should be called "My idea of how to make Captain Falcon slightly better"...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The more I'm seeing of Super Smash Bros. for, the more I feel like the games are nothing more than big-budget fangames. I mean, they really look like they are fangames, like, I don't know, I think it's the aesthetic, or that sometimes the assets don't exactly blend in with each other. Sure, they put a lot of effort blending the styles, but there's still something that just makes it feel fangameish.
Smash Bros. isn't polished?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I'm not saying it's not polished, it just, I don't know, feels like half of the stages are basically Brawl stage hacks.
It might be because the lighting at some places can be a tiny bit off at times, at least that's how I see it. When Little Mac was announced for example and Giga Mac showed up walking around, that was the feeling I had.
Signatures are for lamers. You might want to use a more "recent" example, because we're still not even on the final build of the game and that Little Mac footage was from quite a while ago.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Somebody from a different forum brought up an interesting point about the roster.
They basically said that as the roster was the first thing that was decided on from the beginning of the development of Smash 4, as shown here
and that development started right after the completion of Uprising in March 2012
, this would have been a month before the original release of Awakening.
This would mean that whatever Awakening character that was planned from the beginning would have been so long before Awakening sold well and saved the franchise or before any character from Awakening could have had fan demand influencing their position.
So basically, it's not about which character is in demand.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectPresumably IS wanted an Awakening character, since it was their most recent game, and the roster already has characters from the last two series. Besides, Awakening came out early enough that I'm sure it's possible they could adjust the character if need be, especially if Chrom was especially hated in Japan. He isn't, though I believe Lucina is more popular there.
Hell, I'm pretty sure Lucina is more popular in the US as well.
Lucy is just awesome like that.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Augh, if they chose Tharja I would be insanely upset. Like, "I might spit on my screen in anger" upset. She's just the most fucking awful pointless fan-service character imaginable. I don't mind fan service if the character presenting it is likeable, that's why I don't mind the fanservice in Bayonetta or The Wonderful 101, but Tharja is either bland or a horrible attempt at dark humor (which is even more pointless because Henry is a way better "dark humor" character).
Chrom might be "boring" from a design standpoint, but atleast playing through the game, I LIKED him.

But indeed, every Massively Multiplayer Crossover is essentially a big-budget fan game - from Smash to Super Robot Wars to the various CapcomVs series - only inverted in that the games are made by the parent companies as a sort of "present" to their fans (as well as usually being an homage to whatever franchises exist in particular games). There's not really any point in denying that, I'd say.
Though I wouldn't really say it's "nothing more" than that. Smash is basically Nintendo's Fighting Game, done in a way that has their particular style without having to make a bunch of original characters that'll inevitably have cameos and references from other Nintendo properties anyway.note
On a side note, I have wondered what would happen if Nintendo made another fighter (traditional or not), but I think it would just be eclipsed by Smash anyway at this point. Not to mention the fanbase has a bad habit of deriding new IPs before said IPs have had a chance to make a real impression yet.
