I think people think that Greninja having PokémonSpeak is just another way to promote the anime instead of the games. I don't quite see how that works considering Greninja was going to be in since before X/Y was released and so it was probably before it was decided when it was going to even appear in the anime in the fist place.
Though I guess the main issue is that he appears to be very similar in appearance and style to the other FE protags, so people (especially those who have never played the series) will think he'll just be another swordsman and would overall be underwhelming for a final newcomer.
EDIT: And then the topic moves in super speed...

Yeah, I've played Awakening but I don't want Chrom.
I've warmed up a little just because all the previous newcomer reveals suggest to me that if Sakurai does include Chrom, it'll only be because he has some really good ideas for what he'd do. And there's no concern of him replacing Ike anymore. Still, I'll be kind of frustrated if he gets in and Isaac doesn't.
Welcome to th:|Basically what beorc said. Whatever hypothetical thing Chrom could bring to the table is extremely unlikely to outweigh what Isaac would bring (which is an entire new series represented and non-sword moves that you don't have to bend over backwards for). Having both would still be puzzling, but okay? The point stands, as I said, the third blue-haired swordsman from Fire Emblem would always be judged by what character he's not. No Isaac? Why Chrom. No Ridley? Why Chrom. No K.Rool? Why Chrom. Etc.

Nah, delusional would be that they'll reveal Chrom to be a tag-team with Flynn, and they'll be revealed alongside a Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem trailer.

Welcome to th:|We already have Awakening's REAL main character with Mii Swordfighter anyway.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerPersonally, I can't say I understand the idea of Fire Emblem getting three reps, especially if all three of them were variants on the same basic "this is a guy who fights people with a sword" concept. Seems redundant.
Admittedly, I've also never played Fire Emblem and can't say I really care about the series one way or another, so that could be it, too.
Unless they're talking about Ridley, I'll believe it when those secret newcomers are actually revealed.

I just hope the Fire Emblem rep uses something other than a sword. Chrom and Lucina when they get a promotion of their starting class they can use both swords and lances.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI'd be slightly more okay with Lance Chrom. But I maintain that the avatar's the main hero.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerChrom isn't exactly too exciting, but interest for him as a character went from eh, to yeah no since Ike was revealed to still be in the roster. People thought he would replace Ike and since that can't be the case anymore, well...
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!I dislike complaining about a character when they come from a separate franchise from the one I want. I'm not going to get angry at Rosalina or Little Mac because Ridley didn't get in. Now if Adam got in over Ridley, then I'd be angry.
In Chrom's case, while there are better options, he's the obvious choice, so there's not much point in getting upset when he gets in and Tactician doesn't.
