They'd have to, otherwise the hitboxes would be altered.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerStill no idea on Toon Link. I'm hoping for Ballad of Gales, but it'll probably just be Triforce Slash again, if Sheik's didn't change either.

...No, they wouldn't. The female Villager and male WFT are the same size and general shape as their male and female counterparts. They'd use the same hitboxes.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Yeah, he was 3DS-only, and it showed. They hadn't made any noticeable changes of him.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987That's probably the only thing I'm disappointed with the fourth game. I was really hoping that Sheik and Toon Link would get new Final Smashes, especially after seeing Zero Suit Samus's new one (though I suppose hers was justified due to her old FS not working with the character split).
Also, Pikachu's FS seemed underwhelming, but I wonder if that was just because of the player.
I hate that Marth's FS got rid of the HP bar.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerPikachu's FS is effective in the right hands, so it's probably that.
Anyway, I can kinda understand Sheik retaining the light arrows since she doesn't really have much to go on anyway, but it feels like they're going out of their way to make TL as cloneish as possible instead of picking some obvious moves.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I'd wait until we can see Toon Link in a more complete form, to be honest.

Good. Marth is Boring, but Practical incarnate. He doesn't need any more help in the "boring" part.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerWell I tried to get to the Best Buy event today.
I ended up going to 2 Best Buys because the first one didn't have it.
And even though the 2nd one had the event, it turned out that I had to reserve a spot in some list in order to actually play it. So I ended up just watching the thing when it was like 20 minutes before 5:00.
Crap.
Still, the stuff I saw was majestic. And I scored 2 Smash Bros. buttons and a Mario Kart 8 flag.
Considering that Toon Link hasn't been confirmed to have any new moves at all and that Sakurai makes it a rule that Link and T Link have the same moves, I'm not remotely surprised the FS is the same and I don't expect Toon Link to ever change.
Went to the Best Buy thing today.
Played as Greninja and Luigi very briefly in the 3DS version. Kinda felt like there was a bit of input lag, oddly enough. Because we had to stop when it was our turn to play the Wii U version, I start playing it in the middle of one match and stopped in the middle of another. Kind of weird. Wish they had passed it around to people waiting in line like I hear they did at some locations, rather than have people play it right before the Wii U version.
Made the mistake of playing as Rosalina in the Wii U version. Too busy trying to figure out how to do stuff with Luma to actually KO anyone.
Except for Hitbox Dissonance up your ass.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."

Yeah, Wireframe Mac was confirmed, that's why I put him. Same with the Villager and Wii Fit Trainer having alternate-gender designs, though they seem to function more like palette swaps.
