I'm generally in favour of having Chrom/Robin paired up with Einherjar to convey the 'battlefield commander' aspect of their role. Pulling in mages, archers, cavaliers etc. from across the series for special attacks would do a better job of representing the series as a whole than any one character who isn't Anna.

Would their character summons have the reduced framerate of Assist Trophies?
Of course, Grima, unlike the Red Dragon, does have an independent target "commanding" the larger dragon body, which is the right size for Smash. That would probably mean Grima's full form would only be seen in a Final Smash, though.

I have a message from another time...Technically it would work (although, does Chrom actually have, like, portal-summoning abilities?), but it's just hard to imagine how it could be done without being weird in some fashion.
Okay, so... Chrom with only standard, jack-of-all-stats sword attacks for his A-moves, and for his B-moves, he steps back a little and very briefly summons a character? So his up-B would summon some magical healer unit who helps him recover with white magic that lets him float for a moment, his down-B would summon a tanky guy to absorb damage for him and counterattack, side-B summons a wizard unit in the background who calls forth some form of magic projectile (a medium-range flame pillar?), neutral-B... something-something? And the interesting part is that all these characters actually stay on the field for a moment after doing their thing, giving the move a certain cool-down time, not restricting Chrom's movement but restricting his ability to spam that particular B-move? Except the magic-users could just stand in the background and cast their magic from there?
I dunno. Could work, I guess.
... still give me Shantae or Quote instead, though.
(I actually managed to convince myself that Quote has the slightest chance in hell of making it, please help me.)

I'll ask again: has anyone heard the rumors about the Chunky Kong Assist Trophy? According to reports, he does a Simian Slam and makes it rain Banana Bunches, which both hurt people and leave banana peels everywhere.
What do you guys think about it? Do you think it's real?

Chunky was the only one of the five Kongs who wasn't, actually.
Although he did appear as a Sticker in Brawl. So we have that.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaSpeaking of rights, apparently Nicalis bought the publishing rights, so I guess that would mean Nintendo would have to approach them for the rights to Quote, probably? And they aren't a second-party to Nintendo as I'd hoped. So I guess Quote is even more terribly unlikely than I feared. Alas.
... That said, I'm not sure about some of your choices. Like, would that Sumia-powered up-B recovery involve summoning Sumia including her entire winged-freaking-horse? That would be huge, dude. That sounds like about 1300 Milliridleys for an up-B move. ... As I said, it'd be hard to make summoning entire characters for a single move not seem weird.

We Are With You Zack Snyder
x5 Yeah anything that Rare created that was put into a Nintendo IP belongs to Nintendo.
The only things that don't count are Conker and Banjo from Diddy Kong's Racing and Jet-Pac mini game from DK 64.
Conker and Banjo were only put in to promote their up coming games. Jet-Pac was created in 1983 or 1984 when Rare was still independent.
But it would be nice to think what could have been. When Rare left for Microsoft, Nintendo actually owned every single IP Rare created with Nintendo but Nintendo decided to give Rare everything except DK characters and Star Fox characters.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventure

The games are still a long time coming, so some reveals are still bound to happen.
