I'd still pay very good money for a Metroid or Kid Icarus show.

Kirby Anime is its own entity...that's very loosely based off of Kirby's Dreamland and Kirby's Adventure.

Hey, the Zelda cartoon was actually pretty good, all things considered. Sure, it doesn't match much of the current game lore, but it only had the two NES games to go on.

The Mario cartoons were admittedly a bit more hit-or-miss, and got worse as time went on. Super Show had its moments of clever writing (and lets give it props for pretty much inventing the personalities of Mario & Luigi, which are still used today), while the SMB 3 toon was okay at best, and the SMW cartoon had maybe one good episode.

F-Zero and Kirby also came out much later; when animators actually gave a crap about the video game show they were making.

I think Nintendo was the one that wasn't too concerned about the quality of their shows.

I mean, the Captain N creator literally knew absolutely nothing about any of those games.

[up] According to one of the executive producers, No A didn't want to go into TV at all. They had to be pretty much dragged into it.

I think you mean inventing the personality of just Luigi, I never saw a single thing similar about Mario to the Super Show version.

Mario tends to act more heroic and willing now. He didn't even have a personality. That's pretty much his show personality(the cartoon anyway). Always ready to go. It even shows up in Smash from time to time. He's more or less gung ho, where Luigi is a coward.

I think it kinda shows subtly in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, when you run through Dream's Deep. You get to see Luigi's thoughts, and a lot of them seem to be him looking up to Mario or wanting to go on adventures with him. He's kind of like a role model for Luigi.

Mario's Big Eater tendencies from the cartoons have shown up in Super Mario 64 and Sunshine.

A long time ago. Back when the Super Mario Bros. Super Show existed.

Mario = Reckless "Set" Hero + Big Eater

The 1st thing seems to be the way all of the RPG(s) start out.

What's different about Mario though is that he's not classically bishie.

He's cute in his own way though, for being a chubby probably-middle-aged plumber with a mustache. There are hardly any other popular video game characters like that.

He's one of those quirky designs that somehow managed to endure.

If you think about it, none of the big 4 of this game really fit any mold that's still common in modern games, western or eastern, except maybe Mega Man.

I don't think you can grow a mustache as bushy as Mario's by 25.

I really think he's at least 30. He is in real life anyway. :p Peach might be in her late 20s, but I wouldn't expect it.

I think Mario being middle aged makes a lot more sense, because in my mind everyone in Brooklyn is born 35.

Peach is the same age as Mario and according to one of the Mario OVA(s) he was born with that big ol' stache of his.

I've stuck with 25 ever since I read that Mario Land 2 comic.

Why was Peachyhime even at the Smash Bros. Invitational? She doesn't even play real Smash Bros., just Project M.

Maybe Nintendo secretly likes Project M but can't mention it because doing so would mean an immediate C&D.
