Won't there be another Treehouse Live tomorrow? Is it starting at the same time?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Just got back from the Smash-Fest with tired feet and armfuls of Nintendo Swag. In addition to playing the Wii U version we also got to sample Smash Run while waiting in the queue!
The gold coin is actually a preorder bonus and can be picked up with the game, but there was a table of Nintendo promotional merchandise that we got to take home. My personal favorites are the Mario Kart 8 checkered flag and the giant Animal Crossing pin that resembles one of the metals you earn in New Leaf. There's also a Smash Bros insignia pin that's pretty slick.
I was lucky enough to be part of the last group that was allowed 2 matches as the line was getting unwieldy. Little Mac is so satisfying to play as. All in all, I enjoyed the experience. It was like attending a mini Nintendo E3 event.
So I just got back from one of the Smashfests. Thoughts so far:
- Playing Smash Run is extremely hectic, and the end battle is really short. Like, around 1 minute long. Playing on he NSMB2 stage was hectic fun, and Little Mac was surprisingly beastly to use.
- They made a new rendition of the Smash 64 menu music for the menus in Smash U. It's orchestral now, and it sounds AWESOME as a result.
- Mega Man is very tricky to get used to, but definitely worth it if you can remember what move is triggered by what. I got all the way into Sudden Death with him (against ZSS).
I got there at 5:30, and didn't get to play Smash U until 8:10. However, they had officials moving around the line with 2DS units demoing Smash 3DS.
Also I got a shit-ton of tags for Streetpass as a result.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I'm still really sad that my local Best Buy didn't do Smash Fest. The closest one is in Sarasota, I think, and that's over an hour away.
Also, word of advice for anyone going to an event like that: get there an hour or two early. You'll get all the best swag and first go at the game. In the last event Nintendo had, this other girl that got there super early and I even got bonus swag for getting there so early.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Hmm, we can see all of Mario's customized moves as well.
- Fireball, Fast Fireball, and Fire Orb (which we already saw)
- Super Jump Punch, Super Jump, and Explosive Punch
- Cape, Gust Cape, and Shocking Cape
- F.L.U.D.D., Scalding F.L.U.D.D., and High-Pressure F.L.U.D.D.

Welcome to th:|Bayonetta (clap clap, clap clap clap), Bayonetta.
(both games release in October now!)
Sakurai's reaction to that one guy at the end seemed a little jerk-ish in a "Cool story, bro" way.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Watching the roundtable...
Is it wrong that I find Sakurai cute for a 43-year-old? Sometimes, I honestly think that the Japanese give themselves higher ages so they can be complimented for looking so young.
I'm liking the look of Mario's custom moves. I will try them all.
