"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerAlso, it'd be nice to have another villain in the Smash roster besides Bowser and maybe Dedede.
What do you know? I come back and finally read through everything and suddenly it turns out I'm not the only person who's had moments of dissolution today.
I know I'm still probably the person here who's least excited about this game right now, but even so, I'd like to say you people have my sympathies and welcome to the party.
Nintendo doesn't treat Metroid as badly as it's "fanbase" thinks it does.
Pac-Man being in this game isn't that big a deal.
Sonic is lame now.
Ridley is Boring.
Palutena is in so they could ACTUALLY put Ice T in the game and I'd be OK with it.
Is there anything I'm missing that will completely alienate me from the Smash "fanbase" at this point?
Eh, honestly, as much as I've been generally unimpressed by the new characters announced (though I'm glad to see G&W back), as long as the characters play well and have interesting moves and are part of an interesting game, not a single new character I particularly want could be in the roster and I'd still be really looking forward to this game.
Not that that's going to stop me from continuing to pull for Marshal in Smash, of course.
The game is actually looking far better to me now. While I didn't enjoy most of the Gematsu leak(except Villager, Mega Man, and Mii), the gameplay looks amazing and the balance is looking even better.
Shadow?Not even Mega Man?
I know I've made my feelings of disappointment known here, but Mega Man is one of the things I'd definitely count as a reason I would still want to get the game right at the moment.
Honestly, watching the invitational probably sold me more on the series than anything else today. It really seems to have had a big affect on my perception of the series and its fans.
But this
will still be my favorite moment from the stream:
The game could have had a ton of characters I don't know and I still would want to play it. Here's hoping it'll be successful after it's released on both consoles.

Honestly? I've never played a single Mega Man game, so I don't care for him any more than I cared for Marth in Melee.
Which is far from saying that I don't look forward to playing as him, mind you.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Ridley is wanted badly because he's the last truly iconic Nintendo character who hasn't been playable in Smash yet. He, more than any other character, absolutely deserves a slot in the game. Metroid has been shafted for way too long in Smash.
On Pac-Man, why would they bring him up without a reveal video? That doesn't make sense.

Never mind.

What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King SageI'm hoping Snake gets back in, though. Not necessarily because he fits (he doesn't), but because I don't believe in roster cuts at all.
Which means yes, I'm also hoping for Pichu.

The Round-Table is over; no more reveals.
EDIT: Oh. Hm. Page-Topper. I guess Round-Table can sound cool without context? Let's go with that.
