Pac man kirby sounds terrifying.

I wonder if now that there are customizable specials, Kirby will copy whatever neutral special the opponent has equipped.

Screw robots; the real uprising is going to come from Smash Bros figurines.

I, for one, welcome our new plastic overlords.

note

I wonder if Kirby will have different faces depending on the Mii type he's eaten...

-imagines Kirby with Reggie's face after inhaling a Brawler Mii-

I'm guessing the reason they want to block Miis from "vs Anyone" mode is to help stave off the appearance of "questionable" Mii designs...

They're really pushing this Amiibo thing and I just don't get it.

I might get a figure or two just because I like that sort of thing, but don't pretend it's some amazing new revolution in gaming.

Figures can learn and adapt over time, and can also use items.

THIS IS EXACTLY HOW TERMINATOR STARTED YOU KNOW

Screw Pokémon X & Y, making my Greninja actually learn how to fight and adapt is the way to be a pokémon trainer.

(I'm really forgiving them for making it completely optional, you know.)

I think the only "revolutionary" thing they've hyped up about amiibo is that it's supposed to work with many games as opposed to being locking into a single franchise of games...

I'm still surprised they didn't call it ''amiigo'.

Technically, the trope is named after a song that's named after him. But I digress. :P

Ah. My bad then.

I don't think I'll ever comprehend why a G&W and Pac-Man reveal wasn't made at the end of the Smash Invitational.

The hype generated would have INFINITELY exceeded getting the news broken over twitter feed.

They said this works with Mario Party 10.

Are we getting Link in Mario Party? That would be sweet!

Because the invitational was about the fans having fun, not steamrolling over the winner's moment in the spotlight with character reveals.

They're figures that function more or less like the Skylanders and Disney Infinity figures (meaning you need to purchase them), only you can attach them to your Wii U Game Pad and they'll do various things depending on the game.

They're more or less an extension of the AR cards that the 3DS uses.

The Smash figures allow you to essentially train and level up specific characters, IIRC.

figure fighters are characters that you can use to help you out in battle they can level up and will learn your opponents strategies over time.

You can't play as them but you can basically tag battle with them.

Sakurai says you don't need to even use the feature but if you want all the figures you can get them.

The Figure Players (FP) can reach a level of 50.

It seems Smash Run can end with a regular battle, a "throwing contest", or a "running contest".

Are they, like, basically physical trophies? Are they of characters relevant to Smash, I mean?

[up]So, much like City Trial ending on lots of different challenges as well as regular races.
