You're missing my point. The original Japanese quote on Pyrosphere referred to Samus's trauma. The English translation said an enemy from her past could appear at any time. Too different to be a mistranslation.
Isabelle's quote had the word assist in it. If that's not a hint at her actual role, then I give up.
Ah, I never read that specific Pyrosphere post. Makes sense. Of course nobody on Miiverse or anywhere else ever bothered to bring that up, they always used the English translation as the version. Also, shouldn't the translator have noted that too? I think that would've mattered...
And actually, Isabella sounded like a possible Stage Hazard variant to me. The word "Assist" implies she wasn't playable, and helped the players in some way. She gives items all the time in the game. Her appearing on the stage and assisting a character(much like platforms can help you when they rise up, or the only safe part in one of the Metroid stages assists the player by default) could be either case. I viewed it as either one overall, not assuming either way. It was implied, but I don't believe it was stated directly enough that time anyway for me to say she was blatantly an Assist Trophy. Of course it was a hint, but a hint isn't the same as a confirmation regardless. Hence, if it isn't a blatant confirmation(due to poor context or ambiguous wording, or translation issues) in the wording, I stay perfectly skeptical.
In the cases of a character's role, words alone doesn't mean much unless they completely say the role. As in, "They are this", not "this is what they do". "This guy attacks" doesn't tell me if they're a Stage Hazard or an Assist Trophy/Poke Ball very well. Possible, but I always look for beyond exact phrasing to make sure something is confirmed, not likely scenarios using implications at best(if there is one anyway). Using context, as noted, you could legitimately think of either one. Her appearance in the Pokemon Stage(not counting the direct) made it actually clear it's an AT.
Shadow? That is not what I asked. Did she show up in the Pokemon stage before being shown as an Assist Trophy in the Direct, or was she shown in the Direct first. If it was the Pokemon stage, that actually confirmed she was an Assist Trophy. If not, it was left ambiguous overall. You have to remember that hints don't make things jump from ambiguous to obvious or confirmed. It just helps lean towards their role and nothing more.
And I don't care what words they use unless it's a blatant confirmation with no way to think it could be less blatant. I don't see anything to give them credit for at this point. You just told me of a really bad translation that missed the key context of the Pyrosphere post that proved it was referring to Ridley, yet the English post was completely ambiguous. She has many enemies, after all. I am glad to know that, since it does make my view on Ridley change a bit.
It was a fake sheet of paper. I saw it before. It also doesn't have Zelda Wii U on it, and was typed up wrongly according to the other people reading the leak. Pure fake, not a contest. It's possible Sakurai could change the names of the games at the last minute, but why would they be the same for both the console and handheld? He named them this way so people could actually say which one to buy. It has no confusion at this point. It doesn't add up.

Shadow? The current names are official, whether we like them or not.
I had two points. One, the translator is willing to take liberties with the translation, which we know is true thanks to Pyrosphere. Two and most importantly, the translator coordinates with Sakurai when necessary. Which includes clearing up what Kammekku is.
There was nothing to debunk it, ultimately. Everything sounded possible. Many believe Hades is laughable, though. That KI would get two new characters, and the other one wasn't the main villain of the overall series, Medusa, becomes silly. Palutena's obvious. Also, that same link talked about a character with a hat showing up(not specifically what company it was from). I think saying a Namco character is a small bit of trouble when the company who owns everything is called Bandai-Namco, so that could go either way. Why not say the whole name? We know that any potential Bandai or Namco character could get in bar maybe those who didn't originate in a video game at best, and that Pac-Man is the most likely one(which that leak said he's not in, which makes it skeptical). As for credibility, that's the only issue with it.
Another odd one said Pac-Man and the Ghosts were an Assist(using the Special Flag summons). That is actually realistic, and Pac-Man could still be playable even so(likely that character combo would never be summoned if Pac-Man's being played as, of course). Which doesn't really do anything to tell us "Pac-Man's not playable" in that case.
And no, I do not believe the translator coordinates with Sakurai at all.
I'm sticking to it regardless, so we might as well drop it. I'm not going to be convinced of anything less than the gameplay proving who it is, bar none. Liberties tell me overall "they aren't translating it properly" in the end. Why the hell would you actually say less important information about the Pyrosphere? That was just bad. It's damn important to know about the trauma part in context to the enemy. That would've actually helped severely in speculation. Those types of errors just hurt the translator being "good" a lot as an idea. Yeah, I'm made a conclusion, and that just helps me feel she wasn't that good of a translator overall. Good translations are on the dot without leaving anything out. Bad ones makes mistakes or takes unnecessary liberties, especially omitting notable details that deal with speculation.
Ah, okay. So the Direct actually confirmed it. Thanks.

Shadow? To me, at least, having the Rally X/Xevious special flag as a sort of Namco-only Assist points AWAY from there being a playable Namco rep- Why wouldn't they just be Assist Trophies instead, unless that's all of the Namco-trademarked inclusions?

I sure said that!Keep in mind Bandai-Namco is directly working on the game. Getting in a special item is kind of fair. It's still something Sakurai has to pay for overall(probably), but it's reasonable to let them get a set of summons.
I don't think it has any effect on a playable character. He only said he wouldn't give them any special consideration for a playable character. He didn't say stages, items, trophies, music, etc. So I'm not so sure that matters. Albeit, if we get no Bandai-Namco rep, it wouldn't bother me that much. We could get Snake back, and that's it. That'd be completely understandable too. If he saw no potential choices among other 3rd parties, well...
Shadow?Regarding the Isa / Kachi from last page - perhaps a different Final Smash depending on the leader would be a good idea? Isa would get his Ruffian form, but Kachi would absorb Isa to form the Earth Mimicry. Also, perhaps keeping their special moves the same (as they would involve both characters) but using very different A moves for both might be an interesting setup.
...I'm pretty sure no one's gonna pick Link, given his performance throughout the franchise.
What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King SageI was mostly talking about this poll Ken put out on his stream the other day.
And you just KNOW someone's gonna choose Greninja.
Eh, it wouldn't be hard to make him good with a couple adjustments to his abilities, so he might well be quite usable this time, and I don't think the players will take the tournament quite as seriously as a normal one, and in any case the game will be pretty different, so no one's going to be dishing out perfect combos right off the bat anyway.
Oh dear, it's almost the 10th, isn't it.

I'd also love to see Shulk. Though, I can't decide whether he should be buff-based (with Speed, Armour, and Shield acting as some of his specials), or standard damage-based (with Buster, Purge, Eater, and Cyclone). Or maybe a mix? Like, with Buster, Speed, maybe Armour, and Cyclone?
You'd have to balance buffs carefully. Like, maybe Speed would also make him lightweight for he duration? Or make it possible to screw up, like WFT's Deep Breathing?
Final Smash would be either Cyclone or Monado III or maybe a Vision... somehow. Maybe each enemy is shown a vision of Shulk hitting them with a powerful attack, and it auto-hits them at the end of the countdown if they can't incapacitate him at that moment?
I have a message from another time...
