If we're talking about potential music, I'd love to hear a decent cover of the DKC 1 Final Boss music. Y'know, something that starts off with a light-hearted pirate tune played on concertinas, before it fades out, then suddenly drums and electric guitars start rockin'.
Brawl's cover...didn't do that.
We already know why not. He believes everything should originate in Smash from the games only.
I disagree(as does Sakurai respectively), but that was always his opinion on it.
That said, I would prefer only music that's instrumental from an anime, since translations don't need to be done(and they do take time. If it was translated before, it's not a big deal to add in both, but licensing new translation is really not worth it).
Shadow? They didn't translate Ai no Uta or Tane no Uta, songs which was only used in advertising, so I think there's precedent for including The Meaning of Truth.
There was a French version of Ai no Uta, true, but that one was recorded long before Brawl was released.

I sure said that! The thing about music that isn't already translated? It isn't free to do so. It costs money. You have to pay either the original artist or their contractors. Even to translate it, since you don't own the song. Parodies are different(and free because they're your own song in the end), but translation are clearly not parodies. They're just a different language. And for an Anime, all music in there that wasn't simply a remix of a game theme(like Intense Action A.K.A. Pokemon Gym Theme, not to be confused with the Pokemon Gym Battle Theme) tends to require a translation for all countries. Or at least it would be expected. I think in the case of the Pokemon Kanto Theme(I wanna be the very best) it got translated among different countries as is. So you just need one Japanese theme. However, the Japanese theme was not translated tons of times over. Now, you may not have to translate it much, maybe up to 3 versions, Japanese, English, German/French/Spanish(just one of those), but it all depends where the games release.
A thing to keep in mind that with translations, it's best, if you actually don't already have available ones, to make it for every country you sell the game in. Other than basic business sense, you want to appeal to them all.
It's a very complicated process in execution sometimes, although simple in concept. We had few translations, notably. Now, I would like to think we don't need tons of translations for Anime themes too, but I can't say how important Sakurai thinks it would be. That said, the money it costs for each individual translation in itself is what I don't think may be worth it, especially if it's more than 2 different ones per song. It all adds up. However, instrumental music only costs licensing fees, which is why I think we're more likely to see that instead, especially for The Meaning of Truth(which has no translation anyway. Plus, it's really long, and I think Sakurai wants to have short versions of songs, as we've rarely gotten anything but shorter remixes at best).
Shadow?"Weird Al" Yankovic eats it!
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Ahhhhhh.
Yeah, sure, why not. It's goddamn awesome either way. And in a game anyway.
I should read the translated lyrics. Maybe somebody could properly sing it.(hell, even a random person could try it out and make it sound awesome. I mean, I've sung some songs pretty damn well myself. But who hasn't, right?
)
Brawl soundtracks for stages as DLC, perhaps?
Also, I'd like to see some Diddy Kong Racing representation in the game. It's not a Rare-owned title, despite some characters eventually migrating to Rare series (and thus not appearing in the DS remake), and while I doubt any of the new characters there are Smash-worthy, there could at least be a stage or even just a music track...
@Enlong: I'm a game purist when it comes to Smash, is all.
Also, I personally prefer my game music without lyrics (Which the anime songs in question would include).
Oh, and since Dr. Furball mentioned it, you can add the Gangplank Galleon theme to the list of songs whose Brawl versions aren't as good as the original in my opinion.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Yes, that is true. I should have said "generally prefer", not as a hard rule.
It's why I'm not so big on modern Sonic music, for example. But the DK Rap is hilarious.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The thing is, Brawl had a much, much larger soundtrack than the previous games. If there were less reused tracks, there wouldn't be more remixes; there would just be fewer tracks. And even if you really don't want to hear the non-remixed songs, you can always turn them off in My Music. So there's really no good reason to actually complain about this.

Welcome to th:|I agree on Crocodile Cacophony. ^u^ I'd also like to see Punch Bowl in as a song.
For Pokémon, I've got fingers crossed for the World Championship Final Battle from Black 2/White 2. It sounds like Kirby, for some reason...
Kid Icarus requests include Magnus's Theme, Ch. 6: Dark Pit, and (of course) Destroyed Skyworld. And a full version of the Three Sacred Treasures theme briefly heard at the beginning of the chapters where you use it.
For Mega Man, I'll be extremely happy if we get We're the Robots in some way.
And The Yoshi Clan and Central City.

"No Anime songs" isn't even close to some written rule by Sakurai. Just to note. It doesn't prevent him from putting in Trophy designs from one, so...
Second, that's not an Anime. It's a Western Animation(often known as Cartoon). I don't know if the show itself even appeared around the world, though, or even in Japan. Sonic X is the only show(and is the only current Sonic anime to date) that I know appeared in multiple countries, including Japan.
Shadow?

I'd rather not have any songs from any anime in the game. Especially not the Pokemon theme. Meaning of Truth would be funny for memetic value, but I'd really rather they stick with game music.
I really liked Brawl's soundtrack, personally. The only remixes that I'd really consider significantly inferior to the originals were Stickerbrush Symphony's and Vs. Marx's. And while I like Brawl's version of the 0^2 theme, I also feel it's too different from the original in tone. As for songs imported directly into the game, the only one that sticks out like a sore thumb is the one from Kirby and the Amazing Mirror since it's GBA quality.
Oh, and Area 6 version 2 is terrible, but considering we have another Area 6 remix that's better than the original I can forgive that.
