Considering you can customize what buttons do what in most fighting games(and it appears to have shoulder buttons anyway?), it seems fine to me. It's like the earlier Genesis controller with the 6 button setup. Now if only a Mortal Kombat VC game got released. Ooh, I could try this with Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.
I'm just gonna say that I think the 3ds version will be out in July.
Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser CharizardInteresting how Greninja's tongue-scarf isn't exactly mirrored. I guess they're averting Ambidextrous Sprite in regard to asymmetries.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I sort of want Kracko to make some sort of appearance in the game, and not just as a trophy. Maybe as a Assist Trophy, where it flies around and doing its signature beam attack.
Also, something what bothers me with the trophies in Brawl that they state that the Final Smashes originated from that game, even if the said Final Smash is inspired by something in their own game like Cook Kirby.
Only sometimes postsThink it'll be Classic Controller compatible? Because hardly anything's Classic Controller compatible anymore, and I want to use my GC Controller-Classic adapter.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerCook Kirby is taken directly from Super Star...it acts almost exactly the same.
The final smashes either are "taken from" their original game, based off the powers the characters have, based off of portrayal, or completely made up.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.DK's, Diddy's, Yoshi's, Wario's, Zelda's, Sheik's (Kinda; she never used Light Arrows as Sheik), Ganondorf's, Kirby's, Olimar's, Fox's, Falco's, Captain Falcon's, Pikachu's, Marth's, Ness's, Lucas's, Mr. Game and Watch's, and Sonic's are all taken from their games. And Giga Bowser comes from Melee.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Mario's, Link/Toon's, Peach's, Lucario (Brawl)'s, Jigglypuff's, Ike's, The Ice Climbers', Meta Knight's, Dedede's, R.O.B.'s, Mega Man's, and Wii Fit Trainer's were all made up on the spot. I hate it when they do that.

To be fair, some of those characters don't have much to draw from in the first place. ^u^;; Toon Link should totally have Hurricane Slash for a Final Smash, though. And speaking of characters without much to draw from...
I came up with an entrance for the Wii Fit Trainer! She floats onto the stage doing the lotus.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI'm not sure if that entirely applies for Mario and King Dedede. He has a somewhat similar fireball barrage in Super Mario RPG, and King Dedede has a huge Waddle Dee army in the Anime. Sakurai hasn't shown to be entirely inspired by the video games alone, so the latter could've came from there.
I do wonder if he'll give Mario a new one, though. King Dedede's made sense. He's a king. Kings tend to have an army. So...
Shadow? The trophies are about the Final Smashes themselves. Like. the Blue Falcon trophy is about Captain Falcon's Final Smash in Brawl, not about the actual vehicule in the F-Zero series, so it makes sense. And Final Smashes rarely work the exact same way they do in the games they come from anyway. So my point still stands.
I don't think Dedede's Final Smash particularly comes from the anime. Doesn't he lead a Waddle Dee army in the games as well? Though it wouldn't be that surprising, considering Sakurai directed the anime.

I wanted to choose a quote, but there was so many I couldn't choose. It could be a Gordo Army instead.
But yeah, taking them out is odd. He probably does have a new Final Smash in that case.
@Edouard: Well, no wonder he had the Waddle Dee Army as is. I don't remember if he had it in the games before Brawl, but Sakurai likely thought it up anyway. Or at least that's a reasonable guess at this point.
Shadow?

That controller is only like the Gamecube controller in a rather vague way, and about as much so as the current classic controller. However the current classic controller also has a d-pad and a second analog stick, like the Gamecube controller. This... thing on the other hand looks far more geared towards classicly-mapped fighters, not Smash.
