@ Mukora: Dear Princess Celestia:
Today, I saw a kid that looked like a psycho cover up the infamous Mario with a bug net, interrupting a wrestling match between him and Bowser. The Elements of Harmony may be required to deal with someone like him. I hear he wants to run for mayor. Should we even go after an elective official? It's your call. He may be packing heat, with this man... I think he's called Mega?
Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.

This isn't a popular opinion, but I kinda thought Brawl's soundtrack was average overall with a few standout tracks. Granted, the soundtrack is so huge that there's still approximately as many tracks I like as in Melee, but I still don't think it ever quite reaches Melee's highs
.
I'm kind of getting the same vibe from the tracks we've heard in the new games so far, unfortunately.

Average? That's being really harsh I think. Smash Bros.'s soundtrack is composed of remixes of musics from tons of famous games from one of gaming's biggest companies (with some non-remixed musics from not-so-famous games from non-Nintendo games, but still), remixes from many of video game's world most famous composers. I'm maybe not fond of ALL tracks, but it's hard to do more impressive.
And what we've seen of the fourth game soundtrack, especially in the Direct, seems pretty cool so far: the two Punch-Out!! remixes, the two Zelda remixes, the Animal Crossing remix, the Kirby remix, the Credits theme remix, AND especially the Megaman remixes (but that's kind of a given), ect... While I guess the game's main theme doesn't sound as awesome as Brawl's, it doesn't exactly have a big epic story mode either like Brawl either, and it seems to be going the Lighter and Softer road, at least graphic-wise, so I guess it's fitting we don't get a big ultra epic in Latin song.
It's kinda funny you mentionned the Fountain of Dreams, because while at least most of Melee's songs got orchestral remixes, this one is the only one that got in-game. Of course, not all songs need orchestral remixes, and it's probably the only one that would fit in (not to say other remixes are any less awesome).

I wanted to choose a quote, but there was so many I couldn't choose.I also think Brawl's soundtrack was overall average. I found the main theme fairly good, but the remixes made me quickly sick and tired of hearing it. It didn't need to be remixed over 20 times at all. There's other music, after all. The lack of Metal Battle(or a remix of it at least) annoyed me, and we didn't have any of the regular Target Test music either.
I didn't really find most of the remixes that excellent alone. I'm glad it had a big soundtrack, but the ones I really really liked were nowhere to be found. A lot of the game in general felt mediocre to me period, so this just doesn't help. But yeah, it's mainly the overused main theme via remixes that really hurt the game for me.
Shadow?Yeah, I actually prefer the Smash 4 theme over Brawl's, which was impressive at first but got really old really quickly. The new theme is just really pleasant, has a nice drive without being too overbearing. I never really payed attention to it for the longest time until one time I actually just listened to it and found that I really enjoy it.
Brawl has a few amazing tracks, but I can see what people mean when they call it average. I think a problem might be that it's too big. There's just so much music, all of which is so different, it turns the whole thing into a big blur.

Too unbalanced. Floating works, though. Mewtwo floated very often as is, and easily could get hit by ground stuff even so.
I'm thinking King Boo would be no different in that regard, but clearly have multi-jumps or a very good jumping skill as is. In return, low defense perhaps, and maybe not very powerful attacks?
Shadow? We'll probably get an exact date during E3.
