Pic of the day. Here's Charizard's new special attack, Flare Blitz. It's a very powerful attack—however, you'll take recoil damage if you make contact. Pretty true to the original game, huh? Flare Blitz is Charizard's side special move, and Rock Smash is the down special move.

And here's Mega Charizard X. This will appear as Charizard's Final Smash.

Link.

Neat, was wondering if Flare Blitz replaced Rock Smash or was something else. Turns out Rock Smash was just moved to the open slot.

We lose Triple Finish and he confirms three moves in return. I love it.

But seriously, that's great to know. Good information.

Actually, I think Charizard's the first character to get one of their old moves remmapped to a different B input since The Great Side Special Overhaul in between 64 and Melee.

Also, is the pic of Mega Charizard X on a new stage or the trophy adjuster for photos, cause I don't recognize the area.

[up]That stage would appear to be Palutena's Temple.

I'm wondering- will Mega Evolutions be a transformation with a time limit, or one that lasts until you get KO'd?

Probably a time limit like the other transformations. It'd be broken otherwise.

This also points towards Mega Evolution being Lucario's Final smash, and not some other new factor.

I sure said that!

If well balanced, then Mega Evolution Final Smash lasting until you get K.O.'d would be a great idea, IMO. Of course, it wouldn't be as powerful as other Final Smashes, and would still probably be active even while another one takes place.

What would happen if they obtained another Smash Ball, though?

[up]x3 The next Smash Ball can't appear until the previous Final Smash wears off...its programmed not to appear while its being used or while the Dragoon pieces are around. So I'd think that it would and should be the same in Smash 4...

I wonder why the dragoon pieces? To avoid a conflict where someone dodges a final smash by going off-screen on dragoon, or a more fundamental programming conflict still by just trying to run the two events at once?

[up]Probably the latter...

If its trying to display the activation of a Final Smash while the Dragoon is already activated, might just cause some terri-bad camera problems or something as simple as the game freezing.

Mechanically, adding two potential simultaneous instant kill effects would be a bit manic and crazy even for Smash.

I hope they slow the aiming reticule for Dragoon this time around. It was a bitch and a half getting away from that.

To be fair running away from it, is the most likely way you'll get KO'd from it. Dodging is the much better option.

Though it really does depend on whether or not the person has a twitchy trigger finger, because some people are really impatieny when they're using it. They move the reticule a little and then just quickly press the button right afterwards.

You only got seconds to aim it when you get all three pieces—you don't need a world of patience to shoot it.

And besides, if someone takes the time to get all the pieces then they SHOULD be rewarded with an easy kill. ;p

You need enough patience to actually aim the thing...you have more than enough time to do so.

How much patience does a person need to guide a reticule along a screen until it comes over somebody they want to shoot? Everybody is always on screen.

Well unless they just died. And/or are still invincible upon coming back to the stage.

The reticule moves fast enough so that you can actually aim at the target...but it also moves fast enough that you can miss your target completely due to hastiness, especially if they're moving.
