Her shin does look rather elastic. Bit of off model going on.

I don't see how that's improving the pose...it just looks weirder.

I don't like the "improved" version either. It honestly looks even worse, possibly really uncomfortable. >_<

I suppose the intent was to make it more of an "actiony" pose than the previous.

The execution is debatable, but I can see what they were going for.

She either doesn't have any organs or her spine is missing to be able to bend like that.

This was the old pose.

They're trying to make her look more dynamic and reactive to the fact that she's in a fight, so the try is commendable. Since these pics are not yet final, I'm hoping they'll fix the shin issue.

I sure said that!

I think her leg's broken there.

Probably because of the heels.

Samus had some of her organs removed, and her spine rubberized, when she was very young as part of her training. It's how she can manage the Morph Ball. Little known fact.

As I've said repeatedly in the Metroid thread, there's nothing special about her ability to enter the Morph Ball. Just watch when you acquire it in Prime. There are several things impressive with it, yes, but that's not one of them.

Given how that pose will probably only last an instant, by biggest complain is that her right knee and foot are clipping through the floor.

Maybe the animation looks better?

Either way, I guess it is more dynamic than old one in brawl, but it does at least on screenshot look like her spine bent wrong way :P Then again, she IS part bird and capable of fitting herself inside a ball...

There's a slight trick of the camera, too- She's bending to the right, but the angle makes it look like she's bending towards the camera.

Maybe there's nothing special about her mass fitting inside the sphere, but there's gotta be some reason as to how she has any clue where she's going, and how she doesn't suffer terrible injuries from folding up like that.

Whatever it is, all I know is that Science Team failed to figure it out.

Chozo blood is why she could curl up in the armor, right? I forgot exactly what it was. I haven't looked at the storyline in ages.

At least in the Prime games, she turns into a cloud of energy that can be seen between the two halves.

And yeah, there's probably a great deal of Chozo technomagic involved, as well.

@enlong: Hey, it IS possible for humans to fit inside balls :P They just need to be uber flexible like some record setters are. And yes, they do bend in rather squick-y ways. And apparently chozo were naturally capable of going to ball shape according to some random word of god concept art stuff in zero mission <_<

Ah, this just occurred to me- Since Samus and Zero Suit Samus are no longer tied to each other in gameplay and we know model edits are in, I really hope Samus' suits get all the trimmings this time- Stripped-down Fusion Suit, fan-shaped shoulders on the Dark Suit, etc.

Rollin' around at the speed of sound; got places to go, gotta follow my Rainbow!

Speaking of, I would have preferred that to be the Sonic stage in Smash 4, fighting atop the G.U.N. truck, and using models they could easily recycle from Generations.
