@Waffle: Well I figure, Matthew is the protagonist of the latest game, he looks exactly like his father does, plus he has all the same abilities, and he's got a cooler outfit.

Isaac already showed up in gameplay in Brawl. He's the main protagonist of the first game, and the hero of the first half of the story, still being notable in the third game.

He's pretty much the Marth of the canon itself.

I doubt he'd get in over Isaac. I think he'd be awesome as a replacement Assist Trophy, but there's also Felix or Sveta for that, since they look different and have other optional attacks besides being a carbon copy of Isaac.

He's no longer the playable main, though. I rather feel it's a toss-up as to which one it'd be.

I'd prefer Sveta to either one, but so it goes.

You know, I recently watched a playthrough of Kid Icarus: Uprising and... while I can understand why people like Palutena (Who wouldn't want to play as a Danmaku boss?) another character I think would be cool is Magnus.
Magnus is cool, but he's a fairly minor supporting cast member compared to Palutena or Medusa.

He'd make a badass AT, at least.

The desire for Magnus has never made sense to me.

Here's a game with four magic-using characters who have a role in at least a third of the game. Three of them have the added bonus of being female, and wield staves, something we have yet to see in Smash.

Nah, let's put in the guy who appears for less than a half-hour and has the amazing ability to swing a sword.

His ability to swing that sword is amazing, isn't it? What with the smacking around angels and the sheer size of the thing and the tornadoes and whatnot.

Honestly, most impressive is his ability to wield a blade that is roughly three times his size.

And Snark with the best of them.

Magnus was too minor. We'd see Palutena, Medusa, Pittoo, or Viridi before we saw Magnus.

I think the push for him to be a character is left over from when people thought he would be a bigger character in the story.

Reading the Miiverse post, I still have no idea what this little Tac guy does. Unless it's only found in Smash Run? Then I understand.

Tac is an enemy from the Kirby series that steals copy abilities. In Smash Run, it instead steals those power-up patches from you.

It's an enemy from Kirby who would steal your powerups, so here it steals the upgrades that you've been collecting.

Yeah, if it stated it's from Smash Run, I missed it, but it certainly makes the most sense.

He is. He's a thief. In most Kirby games, he swipes Kirby's power and GTF Os. I'm Air Ride, City Trial had an event where he'd show up with a bunch of stolen power-ups. It looks like Smash Run has him show up to steal your power ups.

You can see Tac in action for a few seconds in the Smash Direct's bit on Smash Run, too.

He's just doing nothing to hide that he's ripping off City Trial wholesale with this.

In the Smash Direct, he explicitly compares Smash Run to City Trial. It's very intentional.

It irks me that Smash Run is 3DS only, I loved City Trial back in Air Ride and it was one of the few things I could play with my family.

I know it's his own work, it's just that putting Tac in to serve more or less the same function feels like he's hardly trying (could've subbed Nabbit out for Tac and gotten much the same effect)
