I'd have liked Power Bombs to be Samus's new Final Smash, especially with how Other M made them the most powerful weapon in her arsenal.

Power Bomb has always been the most... powerful. Just that Other M made it out to be this really dangerous thing (justification for the authorization thing altogether, forgetting harmless powers like Gravity or Varia)

Well, Dark Samus is an Assist Trophy...

PLANET PHAAZE CONFIRMED!

In all seriousness, I could see a toned-down version of the Power Bomb being used as a special. It doesn't look like the less meaningful-sounding Zero Laser is going to be swapped out, and we've already seen other attacks take a slight dive in attack power and area of effect here (Din's Fire, Aether, etc.).

So, on other news. I once saw a picture which compared Palutena's Temple to (Hyrule) Temple and New Pork City and according to it, Palutena's Temple is actually bigger than either of those two.

My rank of the newcomers:

1. Mega Man. He looks freaking adorable and his moveset is really cool. Hype level: 98%

2. Villager. Really creative moveset, and he's pretty cute. Also a fan of Animal Crossing. All we need now is female villager costume and it'd be perfect. Hype level: 93%

3. Greninja. It's my favorite starter of all time, and I like that they chose someone so new. Really cool looking moves. Hype level: 89%

4. Wii Fit Trainer. Hahahahaha!! XD Hype level: ???

5. Little Mac. Never heard of him, but his intro video was amazing. Hype level: 75%

6. Rosalina & Luma. Eh, satisfied I guess. Not my #1 choice I'd have liked. Hype level: 51%

hat's a pity- Then you can't recognize that Mac is the first character from a puzzle game since Doctor Mario.tongue

Not really. Punch-Out!! is a series of Boss Games and every boss is a Puzzle Boss to some extent or another. It's a very unorthodox puzzle game, but it's definitely the best possible genre you could slot it into.

Yeah, but by same logic, all stealth games are puzzle games.

Hell, all bosses that aren't "Hack hack hack, dodge, hack hack hack" are also puzzles if you think about it

#41669: Apr 16th 2014 at 1:25:34 AM

Yeah, I'd say that, while Punch Out definitely has more in common with a puzzle game than a traditional sports or fighting game, actually calling it a "puzzle game" would define that particular genre far too broadly.

If anything, I'd say the Punch Out franchise is one of those games that's more or less entirely it's own beast, without much of a familial relation to anything else.
