He never said that Omega Ridley wasn't Ridley.
He just happened to mention Robo-Ridley from Zero Mission right after him.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.No need to apologize. It was an honest mistake.
Uh... it's purple and... scaly?
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarI actually find the defining point of the amalgmation of bad decisions that is Other M Ridley's design to in fact be his absurdly humanoid toned buttocks
◊. Though that doesn't stop the duck bill and conventional neck from looking terrible.
I'm chalking that up to Clone Degeneration.
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarOther Ridleys looked terrifying and intimidating... Other M Ridley? Kinda just looked like a big dude in a cheap costume, for the most part.

I really prefer the more overtly reptilian designs from Super Metroid and the Prime games. Even the emaciated chest was a neat detail, making him bear a slight resemblance to H.R. Geiger's xenomorphs.
And yet, Ridley's boss battle is still by far the best part of the game, even if it's immediately preceded by the worst part of the game.

I sure said that!@ pheer: As much as prefer the classic Ridley to his clone myself, let's be civil here. People are allowed to have differing opinions, after all.
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarZero Mission's Ridley is my favorite design. Other M's is my favorite fight.
Actually, the boss battles in general were the best parts of Other M. They were surprisingly good and lots of fun ('cept for Queen Metroid.)
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaMan, concept art of Ridley and Kraid was downright weird
◊ for the original Metroid.
I think I know how we can make Ridley playable.

(Power Beam'd)
Well, it'd probably be better than, say, getting Ridley as Choogle or Ridley as the Mystery Creature.
For me, it's a toss-up between the Prime trilogy, Zero Mission, and Brawl designs.
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarHe has... a snout.
@ Nes Classic: Adam's authorizations and a few other goofy mechanics aside, I feel that Other M's gameplay wasn't too bad. Story and characterization could've definitely been handled better, but the gameplay was solid. The boss battles definitely helped highlight that. Queen Metroid probably would've been better if the game hinted that you needed to use a Power Bomb despite never using them since the tutorial.
And speaking of Power Bombs, even though they're items in Smash Run, anyone think Samus will finally incorporate them into her moveset?

Agreed. There were some occasional flukes in the combat (Gigafraugs in small corridors are no fun), but for the most part it was a lot of fun and (in spite of the story) played up Samus's badassery to stupidly ridiculous levels.
The missile thing takes a bit of getting used to, though. ^_^;;

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaSpeaking of which, I really hope the Morph Ball Bomb special has a more... Metroid-y handling to it his time.
I sure said that!I think the NES art was based on the sprites, which did a...questionable job of depicting the bosses in a sensible way. The Famicom version got art that slightly makes more sense, even if it was more "cute" than the series would get into with later games (by later games I mean...Metroid II).

Actually, that gives me an idea for something similar that's actually appeared in Super Metroid and Other M.
Charging the power beam all the way and then entering Morph Ball mode scatters a cluster of five Bombs around Samus. Unlike other bombs, they're affected by gravity and have a slight bounce to them.
Maybe we could incorporate that...?
I can understand how they got the American art for Kraid, but... no idea what happened for Ridley, at all.

Let's talk about Ridley's butt, then.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
