Yeah, still doubting it's a boss. For that matter, more likely a stage hazard if anything, and even more importantly, if he wanted to do more than make it vague, he'd have actually made Ridley come out of the hole. But he didn't. Still vague as hell. He could've had a Super Mushroom, which explains the size. Just way too many possibilities for me to do nothing more than completely doubt his confirmed role at this point. Other M one may still be playable yet. But we'll see.
There is nothing clear about Ridley's role at all. People need to just wait till Sakurai confirms what it is. Speculation isn't going to stop nor should it until we get something legitimate.

Shadow?Just watched the Direct, glad to see ZSS and Sheik made it back, good to see Yoshi and Charizard, but holy crap, I was not expecting Greninja at all, and if I was, I was sort of expecting him as part of a Gen VI Pokemon Trainer trio. So, how are the Mega Evolutions for Charizard and Lucario going to work? Final Smashes? I guess that'd mean we're only going to see Mega Zard X if the footage is any indication. I just hope Squirtle and Ivysaur make it back in. If Sheik and ZSS are going to be their own characters, then maybe Squirtle and Ivysaur could get the same deal.
So far, looks like the veterans who haven't shown up yet are Jiggs, Ivysaur, Squirtle, Meta Knight, Falco, Wolf, ROB, Mr. G&W, Ganondorf, Ness, Lucas, Captain Falcon, Wario, Ice Climbers, and possibly Mewtwo if they want to put him in and use his Mega Evolution. We still have yet to see Ike or another FE rep, Ridley might be forthcoming, assuming that Sakurai wasn't just teasing him as a boss. If Doc's coming back, it'll probably just be an alt costume for Mario, like Wire Frame Mac, or the male WFT.
Gotta say, WFT continues to be hilarious. They do pull-ups while hanging from the ledge! How great is that? And the moves they showed were amazing.
I wonder, with how much the moves are being tweaked, if we'll see a Toon Link more distinct from Big Link?
Wow. It was glorious to see that game in motion. Looks to have restored the speed of Melee and expanded on Brawl's sheer amount of content. Still holding out for Snake and Neku, though. I know, I'm a dreamer.
Think anyone might get cut? I can't see any of the original twelve getting cut.
The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]@ Red M: Well, Kojima did (eventually) say he wouldn't mind if Sakurai & co. wanted to put Snake in, but at this point in development, I have to wonder how feasible it'd be.
I can't see any of the original 12 being cut either. Not with the Jigglypuff being in Brawl despite being long out of the anime spotlight and Brawl having an entire event dedicated to the 64 vets.
Depending on how valid this picture is in regards to roster selection,
◊ we may see Meta Knight, Wario, G&W, and a MOTHER rep (probably Ness), but only time will tell.
Ike could be cut (which would sadden me a bit), but that's dependent (I guess) on if Awakening gets a rep (and if Awakening getting a rep would mean the Tellius games get placed on the backburner).
@ Spooky: In short,
they explained features of the games and some version differences, showed off stages (including the reveal that, for online purposes, each stage has a Final Destination version), displayed several new items, talked about moveset changes/additions/alterations (biggest one are the revamps to Samus/ZSS and Zelda/Sheik since transformations are no longer a mechanic, so they're all separate characters), and topped it all off with the reveal of Charizard and Greninja.

Awakening did crazy well, to the point where I think three FE characters is actually fairly likely.

Well, yeah! but even ignoring the whole "saved the franchise" thing, Awakening sold remarkably large numbers. An Awakening rep is a given at this point.

I sure said that!@ Pulse: Yeah, FE getting three reps definitely isn't out of the question.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarI'm kinda hoping we get DLC now. It'd be nice to pad the roster out further post-production, give me something to look forward to at least once the full roster is revealed. And with New Super Luigi U and Pikmin 3's DLC, I trust Nintendo with it.
Not to mention Sakurai hasn't said DLC is off the table.
He does move sorta weirdly, yeah, and while the shadow isn't enough to tell he does look a bit small. I'm still considering him deconfirmed, though. It'd be an epic trolling maneuver if it turned out otherwise, but until then I'll just consider it a dick move to tease him for so long only to deconfirm him.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Wow, thats a lot of info ._. Have to look through it all slowly..
Anyway, is Pokemon Trainer still a thing or did only C Harizard make a return? Or is it just like Sheik and Zero Suit?
Speaking of Zero Suit, I'm little confused by addition of yellow bracelets/heels into it .-. Still mmakes me miss the Zero Mission design concept where they state to not have huge heels..
The heel bracers are hover/jet engine bits. It's at least not as stupid as the just-heels in Other M, and honestly... Pretty nifty.
And Charizard seems to be attending sans Trainer, Squirtle and Ivysaur this time. Odds are decent Sceptile might pop up, since it's the only Grass starter that has a good Smashing stance, considering Greninja's inclusion.

I sure said that!@ Anom: Unless Sakurai says or show something explicit, I'll filing Ridley under "deliberately ambiguous."
@ Spooky: Charizard's a solo act this time around. Gre
'd.
@ Pulse: That is, unless they're supposed to be the Other M heels with jet boots slapped on. That's what I thought when I first saw 'em.
Speaking of Other M, I'm a bit disappointed at the lack of Anthony Higgs-related jokes here.

Really? Wow, that's great! I love me some FE, I'd hate to see the series get put out to pasture. I'd love to see Ike come back, just because I loved Path of Radiance, and Chrom could work as sort of a middle ground between Marth's speed and Ike's crazy power.

Interesting observation: Dark Samus doesn't use her Prime 2 or Prime 3 design. They seem to have created their own custom Dark Samus model, which is really nice.
