It just occurred to me that another reason Greninja may not be getting as much attention is that when you compare him to the other new characters - Villager and Wii Fit Trainer are Fighting Clown-types, Mega Man has a quite unique and reference-filled moveset, and Rosalina and Little Mac come with special gameplay mechanics - he seems like a pretty straightforward fighter.
EDIT: I was quite excited by Smash Run, until I realized that it apparently takes place exclusively in five-minute intervals. It's still good, but a little disappointing now...

Welcome to th:|Anom, I have something I'd like you to hear.
Sorry. It's just that I think that your complaint about order and spoilers is an unreasonable one.
I think RSK clearly stated why the later WiiU version bugs me.

Someone I know referred to Greninja as "The newcomer I didn't know I wanted". I'm inclined to agree. I didn't expect it, and I would never have put it on a roster wishlist, but now that it's been shown I'm pretty hyped up to play as it. Of the 6 newcomers, I'd probably rank it at #2 on my hype-o-meter, behind Little Mac.
This is what I mean. You're all complaining that I'm complaining, but you're all the ones trying to drag it back up and discuss it further even when I've clearly moved on to talk about other things. So I don't understand what it is you want me to do here.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!![]()

I agree and I'd add Wii Fit Trainer and Rosalina to that list. I would never have picked them as fighters before their announcement but god damn do they look fun to play!
Ivysaur is part of a group and Pikachu is pseudo-bipedal. All the others have been bipedal though. Even ignoring that if they do choose a Grass type Sceptile seems like a more obvious choice than Meganium, Torterra, or Servine.

To be fair, Ivysaur has vines and Pikachu has fingers effectively. They also have bipedal moments, more so Pikachu.
It's not nearly the same. Donkey Kong moves quadrapedal as well.
I don't think it'd be a problem, as long as they decently jump, can grab, and can use items.

Shadow?I'm glad they found a way to include both oodles of sourced enemies and the guys from SSE.
I sure said that!I think, in order of most hype to least hype, I'm feeling Little Mac > Greninja > Villager > Mega Man > Wii Fit Trainer > Rosalina.
Mind you, I'm hype for all six, just to varying degrees. Rosalina perhaps to a lesser degree than the other five, but I certainly have no beef with her inclusion. The more the merrier.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Rosalina was in the "no way they're making it in" section of my wishlist, so you can imagine I'm all hype for her. Little Mac follows her, and I'm equally expectant for all the others.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."I kinda expected Rosalina, since they've been playing her up more lately with Mario Kart 8 and 3D World.
Speaking of, I was hoping someone would make a gif of this
◊, it was probably the funniest part of the direct to me. Surprise Kong!

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I do wonder what the connectivity between the versions will be now...I would've guessed it would involve customizing movesets on the 3DS and then being able to transfer them over to the Wii U version, but if that's the case, it's strange that all the footage of customized movesets was from the Wii U version, if you can't even have them without connecting the games.
Not that that necessarily means it's impossible...they do tend to use the Wii U version to show stuff off unless it's something totally exclusive to the 3DS version. But who knows, maybe it'll be the other way around - the Wii U version will let you customize movesets and you'll be able to transfer those to the 3DS. Or maybe they'll both let you do it, and you'll just be able to connect the versions to "sync" your customized movesets so you can keep them the same on both.

Welcome to th:|As far as expectations go, I expected Rosalina as stated, and also expected Mac and Mega. Villager was a bit unexpected thanks to Sakurai's previous statements on Animal Crossing. Wii Fit Trainer and Greninja were totally out of left field to me, though.

Yeah, I wasn't really anticipating her until a few days before the reveal. I'd have considered her a longshot before then.
I should note that they did call attention to her in the Mario Kart 8 trailer, though. It wasn't just "oh, look, Rosalina is racing again", it was more "LOOK GUYS ROSALINA IS HERE AGAIN HAVE SOME GALAXY MUSIC TO GO WITH HER!!"

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I guess the only ones I really expected were Mega Man and Little Mac. And now that Little Mac's been revealed, I really have no idea who else will be playable. There are characters that I hope for, but none that I feel have a near-definite chance of being included.
While I don't have a problem with any of the new characters, I don't know that I'm particularly hyped for any of them...only Greninja and Rosalina come from series I actually play, and I don't feel strongly about the two of them in particular.
In terms of Smash Bros though, I feel like Villager would quite suit my playstyle, so I'm interested in trying him out.
