I was considering buying Wii U first and 3DS later once the hype for Wii U version settled down, but now that there's half a year between them it's totally infeasible. Not to mention there's no way in hell I'll be able to go that time without being spoiled by the 3DS version's roster, and I'll feel behind once I finally get the Wii U version when everyone else had the 3DS version for months.
Ugh.
And I never said it wasn't subjective. I'm expressing my disappointment, not some magic objective, universal one.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!![]()
Well, yeah, but with the Wii U version coming months later and with far more people who already have a 3DS, and a Smash Bros for it with all the same characters...it seems like the people who are willing to buy two different versions of the same game, and have both systems already, may be just about the only ones interested in getting the Wii U version.

Welcome to th:|I'm still wanting full versions now. If only because I graduate college somewhere around summer and I might be able to get back to the fun things in life...
Video games are an investment—in time, money, and your loyalty to the companies who make them.
Dang it Sakurai! All you had to do was extend your arms and say "Directly to you!" You're trolling me in ways that aren't even intentional!
I guess I shouldn't gripe about a Double Bingo.
Yikes, this direct really did a number on my character bingo card
, with one of the characters outright disconfirmed and at least three made much less likely. I doubt he'd remove Ice Climbers, though... Right?
Also, I totally called Smash Run mode.

@Broc Yes. Games are getting expensive and sometimes people can't afford every system.
That Nintendo puts their game on both systems allows people who don't get the other to still play Super Smash Bros.
Maybe not all of it, but a whole lot.

x4 He did the Hand signal that Iwata always does when he says "Directly to you" and he was talking but the translator said Smash Bros. Direct instead of directly to you.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventure@Pulse: November isn't really part of winter though...
@Keybreak: Right, and the fact that the 3DS version didn't bother me so much. But I suspect the fact that the 3DS version is being released earlier will cause a number of people who might've gotten the Wii U version otherwise to simply not bother and get the 3DS version instead.

Doesn't mean there's not going to be some asshat somewhere who goes "OH HEY ____ IS IN SMASH BROS GUIZ. DID YOU KNO?" Or someone using spoiler content as an avatar or what have you.
And what I mean is that now, in addition to having to wait for the Wii U version, I have to put up with people mocking me for it. It's a minor issue since I barely regard other people anyway, but it's still a small nuisance on top of everything else.

I mean, generally those people are easy enough to ignore, but either way, if you've been following the Pics of the Day/Miiverse posts, you're probably already spoiled on stuff anyway, so I'm not sure that really matters much. Maybe it's just me, but if a game doesn't have a story, I don't feel like spoilers are as big of a deal. As for avatars and such, what could possibly be enough of a spoiler that someone could put as their avatar? I don't get the logic here.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

@Beorc November might not be in Winter in the real world but in the corporate world November is Q4 which is always treated as Winter. But if they said Q4 instead of Winter than it could have been as early as October.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI mean hidden content like secret characters and such. I want to go in unspoilered for once, and now I can't.
And I already assume pretty much everyone is an asshole. That doesn't make them less annoying, it just proves cause.

Subjective, Anomalridley. You don't have to get both—you get all the same characters in either. The different versions now are just a difference in some stages, some graphics, and that one game mode.
I still suspect that the people who could afford it would go Wii U. It's bigger and more party-like anyway.
