I don't see why not. It would be nice to see some actual movement and action going on besides the clips in the reveal trailers. They'd just need to only use characters, items, and moves that have already been revealed (unless they want to reveal them in action).
It would also be a good way for them to pad out time.
Pretty sure we saw at least one pre-release match when Brawl was coming out.
Granted, it was likely only to show Sonic in action shortly after his announcement, but I'd say it counts.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyIt would still be really nice to see in full action. Not to mention it plays differently from Brawl or Melee, so it'd give a nice sense of the flow and physics. And I wanna see people get smashed around and flung off-stage.
Yeah, and it was good. I want to see another match. Preferably a four-man battle.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I'm fully expecting at least 2-4 newcomer announcements between now and release. We are definitely going to get one on Tuesday and one at E3, but the others depend on how many more normal Directs we get and when the game launches.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Considering they're doing an entire direct devoted to Smash Brothers I would be incredibly disappointed if we didn't get a trailer that revealed at least three or four new characters, preferably with one of them being new. It would make up for them not announcing any new characters in a month and a half.

What about the Whirlwind from Spirit Tracks?
Plus a few gameplay mechanics, too.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaSo...what about that besides the meter, needs any kind of explanation?
You just explained how his Side Smash works...the other things are just best for strategy in using him.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.

I doubt they'll show a full match. Why would they?
I'm guessing a fair amount of talk about online play, at least one character, and a release date for sure.
