I'd class Aran Ryan as one of the most interesting in his game, behind Bald Bull, King Hippo, and Soda Popinski. I liked the ones who seemed downright insane rather than the cavalcade of Captain Ethnic.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure half the joke in Punch-Out!! is how ridiculous and over-the-top everyone is about being Captain Ethnic.

I sure said that!

Least you can't say they're being unequal. Piston Hondo and Bear Hugger are just as over the top as everyone else.

Well, aside from Mr. Sandman. Rage issues aside, he's pretty much gimmick-free.

Well, okay, and the inexplicable "only vulnerable to body blows" part.

I sure said that!

Mr. Sandman is plenty gimmicky with his sleep theme, just not ethnically so like everyone else.

Yeah, found myself liking Ryan too, at least in the new Punch Out. The SNES version's a total snooze-fest.

And let's be real: the only reason Sandman was in the game was because he was the closest they could get to Mike Tyson without knawing Mac's ear off.

Up until a few seconds ago, the fighters were brawling on top of that tower. No, really.

So... the 3DS game's Wii U game's Delfino Plaza?

Next game you fight on the back of a Pokemon using Fly.

I had a dream that ended with me settling the fact that Ness' moveset wasn't really too much of his own. Basically, after you "beat the game", you type in a code and can unlock "White Ness", Ness with an ice themed moveset. I don't know what Ice attacks are in Earthbound, or if he's anything like that.

So, that's from X&Y? Neat. I've been hoping we might get a more dynamic Pokemon stage this time around.

If wonder if the console version is getting one, or if it'll just be Pokemon Stadium. The mainline Pokemon series is a handheld thing, after all.

[up][up] Well, there are a few flavours of PSI/PK Freeze in the Mother games, but, in Earthbound, only Paula and Poo can learn them (α, β and γ being learnable by both, and Ω only by Paula). In fact, in the Mother games, the primary protagonist always tends to assume more of a medic-and-buffer type role. As such, the grand majority of Ness and Lucas' special moves in the Smash games can't even be learned by them in their respective games of origin; not even their FSes (though Ness does learn PSI Flash).

Considering that the Other M assets in SSB 4 have undergone slight redesigns, would it be probable for Zero Suit Samus to look similar to this; taking cues from the general hairstyle and suit design, but leaving out the heels and mole?

Neat.

@Other M Samus: Personally, I think she looked better in the Prime Trilogy. Maybe I just don't like her mole.

[down]Those things too. She's like 6 foot 3, the entire rest of the people in the game should not be as tall or taller than her. Especially if she is in heels.

I don't like the heels, the fact that they made her breasts and proportions ridiculously exaggerated in comparison to most previous designs, and the fact that she's so goddamned short compared to everyone else.

This would have been great to see in HD. Still looks nice though.

@Other M Zamus: That design would be a nice compromise. Ouside of the heels and the height, I kinda liked Zamus Other M design. -hides behind flame shield-

Lumiose City, eh? To be honest, I don't know what to think of it. Like, unless it is like Battleship Halberd where there is only one landing spot, I cannot think how interesting it can be.

I didn't notice a mole or decreased height in that picture. The design itself seemed good to me (except for the standard impractical heels).

With Tortimer Island and Lumiose, it seems like the 3DS version is going for "casual pick-up-and-play, smack-things-around playground" while the Wii U version is going for "serious dueling arena".

There's a good reason why I'm getting both versions.
