The Punch-Out!! stage having two forms makes me think — maybe some of the other stages have a "skin system" as well? Like maybe Final Destination and Battlefield.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerNew Final Destination skin: Initial Destination.
But in all seriousness though, whenever I see the stage name Final Destination, I think of that scene in one of the Final Destination movies where the logs or some such stuff kill the guy by going through his windshield.
Yeah, I remember that my mother freaked out wen she first overheard me and my brother discussing unlocking it in Melee because of those movies. She thought it was a stage from those movies.
Do you think it's possible that any newly-represented franchises might get more than one character?
Because stuff like Golden Sun and Xenoblade are, to me, in a strange position where I know their main character is the first one who will get in, but I mostly want their main character as a gateway to an even more interesing secondary character. I want Isaac because of Sveta, and Seven interests me as a fighter even more than Shulk (and I really want Shulk).
I have a message from another time...Uh, I'd say most of the new characters are representing unrepresented franchises to smash bros. Even excluding guest characters, 3 out of 5 of the characters (Villager, WFT, and Little Mac) are from franchises that have at most had one stage and one 2 assist trophies, and punch out didn't even get its own symbol like it does now.
Completely unsubstantiated rumor from the Mariokartwii.com forums says 48 characters, with four cuts from Brawl.

Or A + B together.
Although they all are essentially a Limit Break by design. From playing Final Fantasy VIII, many of them were heavily unique and different, much like Brawl's. There was no "standard" style.
Shadow?
