I'm kind of late here, but while part of me is bummed that Waluigi is still an AT, Sakurai is such a good troll that I can't get mad at him.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Back when Melee was still being worked on, I remember Sakurai was choosing from a few select retro characters to add to the game's roster. Two of them (Ice Climbers and Game & Watch) were chosen, but there were others that were left on the cutting room floor. If I remember correctly, some of Sakurai's other potential choices were Pit (He got added later in Brawl), Balloon Fighter, Urban Champ and Mach Rider.
How do you guys think they'd play like?

My brother had an interesting idea for Balloon Fighter, which involved inflating balloons and expending them to strengthen his attacks- by popping them over people's heads.
Only the Bowling Ball is hard to place. However, seeing as how he can gather Bowling-related Items, and he drops Items on the ground often, and the fact that the Mii has never done anything with a Bowing Ball but regularly throw it... like a Bowing Ball, it's a stretch to say it's from any Wii Sports game. He uses the Item far closer to his own games.
Both Punch Out and Balloon Fight are directly playable in Animal Crossing on the Game Cube, making it directly from his game beyond easily. Really has nothing to do with Wii Sports or Nintendo Land when it's actually in his game, respectively.
He's going to need something only possible from Wii Sports to even come close to "being like a Mii", not stuff that are easily from his games and barely one questionable attack at best.
Shadow?Mach Rider would be a Mexican and attack by changing the date to dia des muertos and then riding away while everyone else is trampled by dancing skeletons.
Balloon Fighter? I'd rather have Alice. Urban Champ? Let's not and say we did...unless it leads to some sort of revival (Metroid, Sin and Punishment and Kid Icarus probably owe their revivals to Super Smash Bros) I do not even see the point.
Alice/Balloon Fighter
Up B: Detach and Parachute: Alice/Balloon Fighter will let the air out of all her/his balloons to gain altitude then come down with a puny parachute
Smash B: Deflate Rush: Alice/Balloon Fighter deflates one balloon to dash forward
B: Flipper: Alice/Balloon Fighter tosses out the flipper item from Melee
Down B: Pump Balloons: Alice/Balloon Fighter replaces used balloons with newly filled ones.
Final Smash: Feed To Fish: Alice/Balloon Fighter catches an opponent in her/his legs and then tosses them into the path of a giant fish leaping out of nowhere to eat them

Buldogue's lawyerVillager has a balloon fighter hat recovery because he can play Balloon Fighter in his game. Clearly.
Miis can drop bowling balls if you're at the right (wrong) angle when you release the button. Then again, anyone is capable of dropping a bowling ball, unless they have adhesive hands.

I have a message from another time...![]()

That seems a bit obtuse to me. Unless it's stated otherwise, I'm going to assume Villager's Up-B is just a sort of Composite Character thing. Especially since Balloon Fight was just a rare item in the first Animal Crossing, rather than a series staple or anything.

I could get behind that.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! And punching gloves because Punch Out is in his game.
As I said, the only questionable item among his moveset seriously is the Bowling Ball. The rest have references within his own series.
Shadow?Today's image and caption have reaffirmed my belief that he may have been trolling around the Palutena leak.
Speaking of which, since someone has shared that website with all the pics of the day, maybe if I have the time/caring I'll go through and see if the Mario in those supposedly leaked pics was the same as one in one of the official images.
I forgot the Flipper was a thing. There have been some meh items in this series.
Sorry, Anomalocaris. I didn't mean for it to sound completely serious.
Is there a balloon fight hat in Animal Crossing, though? I only remember the NES item, from the first game.
Then again, I only remember the first game.

I have a message from another time...No. There's no punching gloves either. There's a "glove" in the latest game as a Lost Item. But there's also a full Boxing Ring and related items(save gloves) and Bowling Items among the series(save the Ball). Since both NES games were in, it's hardly a stretch he's making references to all the stuff within his own series. There's also Balloons respectively among some of the games. But again, Balloon Fight is in the first game anyway.

Shadow?I always liked Waluigi, mostly because i've always been amused by Wario so him having a brother was an enjoyable thing.
Mii could have Sports/Resort/Play based moves and really not miss a step, being totally distinct from Villager other than mere concept, and conceptual similarities alone (if they are otherwise very different characters in execution) are not a disqualifier.

All of Villager's moves are based around stuff he'd find in his own games. I think Sakurai outright said that in one of the videos, too. I forget where he exactly stated that.
Mii has that same "idea" in that sense, sure. I understand that, but them being similar in actual movesets is silly. Villager is pretty much the same thing as Mr. Game & Watch anyway, a composite of their own games using moves based around things found in there.(kind of like everyone as is, although not as specific as Villager or Game & Watch)
