Yeah, I like it too. But it's still a Star Wars ripoff. It'd be better to replace it with something less ripoffy, and also something that's actually from a video game.
The monado looks much cooler anyway, and it'd probably be more powerful.
I'd like the Claws from Uprising too, but I'd prefer the basic Claws version.

In a different kind of crossover, I would be all for the Xenoblade characters. Ike and Isaac having to reign in Reyn. Samus going berserk when Sharla shoots at her back. Bionis vs Earth Mimicry but from Super Smash Bros, the main character is a swordsman and not one I think could standout from Nintendo's crop of them. I just don't think he's really built for the largely individual, highly defensive nature of the game, especially not with Marth, Issac, Link, Meta Knight and Pit already being in. Zael, Aeron, Takamaru, Saki/Isa, Alexandra Roivas, Rooks and Isaac/Felix/Matthew for competition along with people who want the likes of Girahim, Kat&Ana, Sword!Ganon and Samurai Goroh, for whatever reason.
Buldogue's lawyerI personally feel that SS Zelda, while very, very awesome, isn't terribly indicative of any game but Skyward Sword. TP Zelda shares design elements from across the series, even if, admitedly, the exact design is exclusively from TP.
Plus, it means she's a brunette instead of a blonde.

I sure said that!Yeah, there are a lot of unarmed characters but there is a little difference from Donkey Kong to Pikachu to Ness to Captain Falcon. Mack is a dedicated boxer and it was not too hard to think of things he does (gain stars, build meter, deal with asthma, transform, even a counter punch would at least look different than anything comparable) with no other boxer or gimmicks similar to punch out. With the swordsmen we have swash buckler (though Link's shield only works stationary, there is room for another), one handed weaver (Marth, Meta Knight), dual (Pit), bastard (Ike) and there is also a laundry list of contenders other than Shulk. He could be dedicated two handed heavy but that could be Sol Blade Golden Sun leader, Year 42 Sword Aeron, Chaos Blade Zael, Giant Sword Rooks or Takamaru's (though his is comparably thin) distinguished role.
I'm pulling for Alex, Issac and or Isa first, I feel they have more to bring. Most of his moves are support buffs, heals and breaks, sufficiently varied and useful in Xenoblade but unlikely to hold up in here. Eater and Purge are projectiles but they are slow release Full-Contact Magic from an energy sword that has a length shifting gimmick; would they really be visually distinctive, or even mechanically seeing how their secondary effects would be absent? Armor/Shield is something everyone has in Smash. Vision could be a counter of sorts but the Fire Emblem guys do that already. Speed, enchant, cyclone and a filler seem workable but I'm not in any rush to see him on the roster.
