I believe it's been brought up, though naturally Sakurai isn't too comfortable with the thought.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyI don't remember Sakurai expressing discomfort. His opinion on DLC is apparently that it's fine as long as it isn't Capcom-style.
That being said, I expect he intends to release a finished product and any "DLC" is likely to just be free patches to fix glitches and whatnot.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I wouldn't be surprised if he actually opts for DLC characters later so all old ones can be returned for players who like them. Any cuts whatsoever(from anywhere), even possibly old bosses(Fighting Polygon Team, any boss from Brawl that doesn't make it, even Giant DK and Metal Bros. as specific fights). He did say that every character had their fans before, acknowledging it.
It would be nice to see a more balanced Pichu, as while his concept was interesting, they could actually buff him up to make up for the self-damage(that, and maybe make the self-damage actually require electric attacks instead of a good chunk of them, including specials). It'd make it easier to play him without requiring self-damage to win, but still allow it to be an optional style.(although you could say Pikachu is the non-self-damage style.
)
I hope we get DLC music at least. Unlike in Brawl, I think it'd be more okay if he used music from more games than just the specific third party's series itself.(so instead of just Sonic games, music from other Sega stuff as well would be neat) Trophies and Stickers would be okay with me doing that too, although I'd say courses are fine just hailing from the specific series being represented with a playable character.
Shadow?Well, if I ever wanted to see a character get in SSB, it would be Travis Touchdown. I mean, Snake got in.
Too bad about the lack of a Subspace Emissary mode. Maybe next time.
Anybody got any particular stages they'd like to see in the new game?
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."I want to see a F-Zero stage set on a front-view of a race, with the platforms being the machines as they pull in to the front, with camera machines flying in to vary things up a bit.
I'd vote for the stage itself being based on Big Blue: Ordeal, but that's just me.

I sure said that!Too bad No More Heroes is no longer a Wii-exclusive game, which kinda makes Travis's chances a bit lower.
Then again, the PS 3 version of No More Heroes apparently had even less sales than Wii, so...
Kind of a broken record at this point, but I'd really like one of Colosseum's arenas to take the role as the new Pokemon Stadium N.

I don't know where this was actually pointed out if it was at all, but apparently the next Smash is going to have a rather small character roster, so I'll try not to get overhyped. Trought I can see the whole "quality over quantity" thing I'm a sucker for a huge variety of characters.
