I wonder if the Fairy-in-a-Bottle works like in the source games to an extent- That is, maybe it doesn't activate until you've accumulated a certain amount of damage.

I sure said that!

Ghetsis bottles Fairie: Meh.

Dr. Wily bottles Fairie: Meh.

Bowser bottles Fairie: ATTACK THE WITCH!!!

Just floating around...

As far as villains go, I don't think they're ever gonna cut Bowser leeway.tongueWell, at least people who aren't Mario, Luigi, or Peach.

As for the bottle, I have a theory: You have to smash the bottle open (like a Capsule) and then the fairy will float around. First to touch it gets healed, so it's a wise idea to smash it at your feet.

... When did Ghetsis or Wily bottle Faeries?

Ghetsis's games were before the Fairy type existed.

Ghetsis probably started to bottle them upon realizing his Haxdreigon is no longer a viable plan.

Wily... he tried to take over the world by heisting a soccer tournament, would you put it past the schizophrenic to try bottling fairies?tongue

I didn't say "why would they?" I said "when did they?"

Edit:

I just noticed. He says "over 100%". So is this even stronger than the (modern) Heart Container

On the nature of tiers and air games - bare in mind that one of Mewtwo's strengths was his brilliant airgame in Melee, but the guy was considered to be one of the lowest tiered characters for ages (dunno if he still is? -shrug-)

He still is very low.

He had mediocre damage output and couldn't KO easily outside of throws, and had a horrible defense while being floaty at the same time. He could dodge stuff easier than most, but it won't matter if he can't KO fast enough.

Kirby is still the lowest, though. Which is funny considering who made the game. XD

From a competitive standpoint, Mac is going to be extremely stage-dependent.

I saw Little Mac and I was like "eeeeeeee". I loved Punch Out even if I could not, for the life of me, beat any of the games, even the Wii one,

I liked to see Little Mac announcement, but it wasn't one I was expecting. What are the chances of Professor Layton being in this?

That fairy isn't in a bottle, it's in a tennis racket.

That would be fun, if throwing the bottle deflected projectile attacks.

[up]x3 No idea, but I hope he gets in. One of Nintendo's bigger budget new series. Admittedly, there's no single character of the games who could sustain a whole moveset, but I figure that, hmm...

Professor Layton

  • Uses a fencing saber for his basic attacks (from the 2nd game, Diabolical Box/Pandora's Box, near the end).
  • Pointer finger, hat throw etc. as possible attacks.
  • The Laytonmobile as a final smash.

[up]Yeah Layton is 3rd Party but I think Nintendo might include it since they published the first three games outside of Japan. I'm not sure if they published the second trilogy.

Speaking of questioning 3rd party, would Zael be considered 3rd party or 1st party? I know that Nintendo published his game in Japan, and Mistwalker is a third party developer who has developed on the 360 as well.

[up]Nintendo owns the IP for Last Story and Pandora's Tower.

So even if it is developed by a 3rd Party as long as Nintendo owns the IP Nintendo considers that game 1st Party.

But gamers would call it second party.

Shulk's really the only character from a Project Rainfall game that seems plausible at all, though. It helps that there's another Xeno game in the works.

Level-5's made PS 3 games before though. Sounds third-party to me.

[up] x3 Yeah, I don't see the other two being viable at all. Especially since Nintendo actually owns Monolith, so he'd be the only one who's first-party.

It would be interesting to see Professor Layton as playable, though, for the Fighting Clown factor.
