Didn't Smash Circuit show up in Wii Fit Trainer's trailer? That's the boxing ring, right?
Looking at the images on the official site: That's a funny but mean joke standing him next to Pikachu and Olimar. Man, that Mario Galaxy stage one... When you see it...
Am I the only one who notices that Samus has pretty much gotten her ass handed to her more than any other character in the site images and videos?
The only ones that seem close are Bowser and Mario.
Favorite image of the update is the one with him facing villager.
EDIT: Forgot urls don't work with tv tropes

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Little Mac vs gods, plumbers, giant gorillas, Bowser, and more! And his first entry into Smash Bros is K Oing SAMUS ARAN. o_o
The announcer just makes that trailer.
"You ain't no air fighter Mac! Quit fooling around up there! Smash ain't no joke!"
Surprised if this doesn't undergo Memetic Mutation.

Doesn't mean much, Kostya. Considering some characters first fought on Battlefield, well...
Also, apparently they changed the Smash symbol to Little Mac's on the stage, so there's our confirmation. My guess is that they had it as a Smash symbol to hide Little Mac's inclusion(or when the stage was first shown, they didn't actually plan for Little Mac right away so gave it a Smash symbol).
Shadow?
3. Or Little Mac was thought of as a player after the stage was made.

It was presented generically till the Direct, so... and some did show up in there too. Like Villager did. Had no relevance to the actual stage's franchise at the time.
The only reason I ever believed it was definitely a Punch-Out stage was the second they changed the text to say it. I'm always skeptical to a true confirmation(not vagueness), and that won't change. The thing is, it may not have been a Punch-Out stage even beforehand. It might've been updated to that. We don't know how this one developed.
Shadow? This is why Sonic has long legs now
◊.
I don't see how anyone could think it was a Smash-original stage. It took way too many cues from the Wii reboot to be anything but a Punch-Out stage in disguise.
Now we just need Lip and K. Rool and that'll be three for three! ...I ought to update my bingo sheet, shouldn't I?
Edit: A Miiverse drawing to celebrate.
As it turns out, I can't draw Little Mac.

pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDS

Ah, I looked at it wrong, it's not like Aura. It seems to be something that you charge up and then when you unleash it with an attack it gives KO worthy knockback? Though if you clear the stage with it, I hope there's a delay before you can use it again.
