I do believe they'll be linked to NES Remix. When does that come out again?
Anyway, I prefer Ridley. The Hunters still remind me too much of Samus, where Ridley is unique. I don't believe there'd be any issue with making him playable. He could be a little fast and frail, perhaps. Not high attack power. Kind of like Fox is overall in Melee/Brawl.
Shadow?Yeah, I was going with "If you're not going to show them off now, then when are you going to show them?". But to be honest, if they are able to make Ice Climbers playable enough that they can show them off, they don't need to "perfect" them unless theya re planning to show a playable demo of the game.
Only sometimes postsDoesn't seem right not to have the Ice Climbers...
I'm expecting every character from the first Super Smash Bros, and just about every character that survived from Melee to Brawl. There's something in longevity that's very reliable...
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would staySeeing as how Rosalina and Luma prove the Ice Climbers-based issue was probably fixed, well... I'm sure they're back.
Surviving from Melee to Brawl might not mean much, to be honest. Especially if Falco and Ganondorf don't get de-cloned. It's nice that Brawl introduced zero clones, though.(NPC characters aside like the Fighting Team)
Shadow?Yeah, he was no clone.
His Landmaster was almost the same, and that was... it. The rest had very different properties B-move wise, as well as his actual A moves were all unique. He's no clone and never was(Final Smash aside at best). Falco was still a clone, though. His only truly different B move was the Reflector, the rest being almost exactly the same.(his other moves are as different as Fox and Wolf's Landmasters) His A moves are a little different, but only some of them.
Shadow? That's because they're first moves shown on the site. Which is understandable. One issue is that they weren't described too differently. Meanwhile other people actually did proper research to show that beyond the Landmaster, his moves are quite different overall(Reflector is a legitimate argument for a similar move, though).
The problem with Wolf's specials is that they still are extremely different to a degree. His Up B only has the same animation, but no fire and other unique properties. His Reflect is kinda similar, until we realize it has very different properties and a fully different look to it. His Laser is nothing alike Fox's. His Side B is a very different move, have entirely unique properties. The only thing it has in common is that he "flashes" towards a direction, but that's about it.
His Landmaster is almost exactly the same, where the rest... aren't. The Reflector is the only other one close to being a clone move. None of the rest are, though. Even though they have similar origins, Sakurai did a pretty good job of making them unique moves. Also, he shares zero A moves in common with Fox.(you could argue his Dash Attack being the same as Fox's Up Smash in design is a similar move at best, but otherwise, nope)
Shadow?Even when playing a game without looking at any of the websites, people pay more attention to the Specials, at least at first. They're certainly flashier.
That's why people notice the "has a laser gun, reflector, recovery move that fires him in a straight line, and a move that thrusts him kinda horizontally" parts before noticing everything else about him. Remember Lucario? People were more willing to notice the similarities than what set them apart.

"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"Agreed.
Doesn't make sense to ignore almost their entire movelist. Just a simple lack of research and all.
The reason Young Link was a clone of Link is because almost all of his moves were the exact same animation-wise. Wolf doesn't even come halfway close to that. Hell, most of his animations are different entirely. Landmaster is literally his only real clone move, and the rest are pretty varied. I can understand Reflector being cited as one since they're fairly similar. The rest? Not really. Falco is still pretty much a clone.
Shadow?Pious Augustus has a staff in Eternal Darkness, A staff gets passed around between the Solar Empresses and Kaiser Vlad in Battalion Wars ii, Medusa has a staff in Kid Icarus: Uprising (as do Jenna, Ivan, Mia, Sheba, Karis, Reif and Himi if we are talking third string characters). There are few people I would rather see in Super Smash Bros before Krystal, even with "the magic staff she hardly uses" excuse. If we were to get a funny animal I'd rather have Dixie Kong or maybe Bubbles from Clu Clu land.
Buldogue's lawyerKrystal is really the only character from Star Fox I find worthy for being a good new addition. She's literally the only one who could easily bring an even more unique style. Falco is pretty much not unique at all, so I have zero issue with replacing him for an unique hero. Wolf is definitely the better choice for staying, imo.
That, and Falco bores me to tears. Fox, Wolf, and Krystal are 3 of my favorites. I like Slippy too, because he's actually interesting overall. That, and has more to his character than "point blank sarcasm".

Shadow?I love Krystal. And not because she's a girl, which isn't a primary reason anyway...
But I like her telepathy, her accent, and her sort of charm. in Star Fox Adventures she was feisty and adventurous, though in Star Fox Assault she was more mellow and sophisticated.
As a Smash fighter though, she'd probably be more Assault than Adventure and not use her staff. She's probably moved past that.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stay

... Holy crap, tomorrow is January 30th. You know what this means? It means tomorrow we might or we might not see the return of Ice Climbers, as that one old fellow said.
Ohai, pagetopper, how are you?
