Chrom would play pretty much like Ike, I imagine. They even both have Aether. The Avatar would be nice as a representative of the magic use in Fire Emblem.
"Marth" is, at best, going to be a reskin of Marth, I imagine. Or not appear at all, because it's kind of a spoiler.

Oh boy it's one of these again.
Chrom and Ike both have Aether, but Chrom doesn't toss up his sword in the air to activate it. He instead rushes at the enemy for Sol and then goes through them for Luna.
If Chrom were in he wouldn't play ANYTHING like Ike. If Ike is the glacier and Marth is the fragile one, Chrom is the one in between.
of course I'd rather have Hector be the glacier than Ike but I wouldn't think that would be the best option either
Um... I'm sorry?
I just meant that if Chrom has to replace Ike, he would be able to fill his role as a more "heavy-hitting" version of Marth, because, as far as I'm aware, Chrom's animations are a lot less graceful than Marth's usually are. Of course if all three are in, Chrom would be in-between. But if he's a replacement, it works as well.
That's it. No need to get your panties all knotted up.

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."To the person who asked, Dark Samus would indeed not need to be a moveset clone. Most of her abilities displayed in the games are different from Samus's, and the ones that are shared have vastly different properties. Dark Samus also moves differently, hovering and kinda slouching.
It's like Godzilla and Spacegodzilla.

I kinda doubt that. Chrom never seemed like the heavy hitting one to me. Of course, Ike didn't either, so what do I know.
I just bring that up when people think "oh Chrom has to replace Ike they can play the same way blah blah blah". I'm willing to bet that they'll give Chrom a more unique playstyle and have Ike stay because of it.
This is why the topic Fire Emblem characters tends to be a bit argumentative around here.

I kinda secretly wish that Marth wasn't revealed so I can continue making jokes about the FE reps being "Marth", Priam, and Chrom.
Of the Hunters, Weavel is my pick because I think the Halfturret would provide for some really interesting gameplay.
But, yeah. Ridley and Dark Samus first.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaHonestly, I would like Dark Samus AND another representative to join Samus... As much as I doubt that would happen.
I'm fairly sure Dark Samus never used missiles, morph ball bombs, or the screw attack, and her charge beam functioned differently as well, meaning she would be far from a moveset clone.
Then we have a final smash, a really, REALLY powerful super missile, and two of her specials- now we just need one more, and her recovery (The rest of her moveset would probably consist mostly of the same stuff Samus's does, if only because there are only so many ways for someone in power armor to throw a punch or kick)

You'd be surprised, actually, Dark Samus moves quite differently and even has a few melee moves (Pistol-Whipping if you get close, mainly). It's also worth noting that Dark Samus doesn't wear power armor, it IS essentially organic-ified power armor.
Also, Samus's suit is fairly bulky, while Dark Samus is much more lithe and agile, so its physical attacks would probably be faster but weaker.
And we could probably do better for a Final Smash, the Super Missile is moderately powerful but she also has strange moves such as creating Echoes of herself or a very powerful meteor slam kind of move.
