I'd prefer Robin as the Awakening rep. S/he's just about as important as Chrom to the story of Awakening (perhaps moreso), and could be a new sort of Fire Emblem representative, using magic.

Why not both? We got Marth and Roy in Melee.

Hell I'd love to see all three, Chrom, "Marth" and Robin/Avatar/Whatever

But what about all the people who like Ike?

Edit: Oh wait, you said "Marth", not Marth.

I liked Ike too but he's a bit old isn't he? Plus it makes more sense the have the most recent Lord from the most recent game.

Chrom would play pretty much like Ike, I imagine. They even both have Aether. The Avatar would be nice as a representative of the magic use in Fire Emblem.

"Marth" is, at best, going to be a reskin of Marth, I imagine. Or not appear at all, because it's kind of a spoiler.

They're not going to drop Marth, and differentiating three Fire Emblem sword users, two of whom explicitly use the same style (and all three use the same sword) might be a bit difficult.

[up][up][up]Oh boy it's one of these again.

Chrom and Ike both have Aether, but Chrom doesn't toss up his sword in the air to activate it. He instead rushes at the enemy for Sol and then goes through them for Luna.

If Chrom were in he wouldn't play ANYTHING like Ike. If Ike is the glacier and Marth is the fragile one, Chrom is the one in between.

of course I'd rather have Hector be the glacier than Ike but I wouldn't think that would be the best option either

Chrom has Aether, but the attack motion is nothing like Ike's version.

Um... I'm sorry?

I just meant that if Chrom has to replace Ike, he would be able to fill his role as a more "heavy-hitting" version of Marth, because, as far as I'm aware, Chrom's animations are a lot less graceful than Marth's usually are. Of course if all three are in, Chrom would be in-between. But if he's a replacement, it works as well.

That's it. No need to get your panties all knotted up.

To the person who asked, Dark Samus would indeed not need to be a moveset clone. Most of her abilities displayed in the games are different from Samus's, and the ones that are shared have vastly different properties. Dark Samus also moves differently, hovering and kinda slouching.

It's like Godzilla and Spacegodzilla.

I'd still rather see Sylux or Weavel than Dark Samus though.

And as much as I love Sylux I think Weavel would be a more interesting addition thanks to that Halfturret form of his

[up][up][up]I kinda doubt that. Chrom never seemed like the heavy hitting one to me. Of course, Ike didn't either, so what do I know.

I just bring that up when people think "oh Chrom has to replace Ike they can play the same way blah blah blah". I'm willing to bet that they'll give Chrom a more unique playstyle and have Ike stay because of it.

This is why the topic Fire Emblem characters tends to be a bit argumentative around here.

My priority for Metroid characters goes Ridley >>>> Dark Samus > Anthony Higgsnote . The Hunters hunters don't really interest me.

Of the Hunters, Weavel is my pick because I think the Halfturret would provide for some really interesting gameplay.

But, yeah. Ridley and Dark Samus first.

Honestly, I would like Dark Samus AND another representative to join Samus... As much as I doubt that would happen.

I'm fairly sure Dark Samus never used missiles, morph ball bombs, or the screw attack, and her charge beam functioned differently as well, meaning she would be far from a moveset clone.

Masked "Marth" would be a cool alt skin, though.

She does use Super Missiles, actually. She never uses Bombs, though, and her beam attacks are mainly a shotgun-like phazon blast and a long thin sustained laser.

Then we have a final smash, a really, REALLY powerful super missile, and two of her specials- now we just need one more, and her recovery (The rest of her moveset would probably consist mostly of the same stuff Samus's does, if only because there are only so many ways for someone in power armor to throw a punch or kick)

You'd be surprised, actually, Dark Samus moves quite differently and even has a few melee moves (Pistol-Whipping if you get close, mainly). It's also worth noting that Dark Samus doesn't wear power armor, it IS essentially organic-ified power armor.

Also, Samus's suit is fairly bulky, while Dark Samus is much more lithe and agile, so its physical attacks would probably be faster but weaker.

And we could probably do better for a Final Smash, the Super Missile is moderately powerful but she also has strange moves such as creating Echoes of herself or a very powerful meteor slam kind of move.

You know the more I think about it and you guys fleshing it out the more I like Dark Samus as a character for Metroid.

Still think Weavel or Sylux should be in there eventually though, at least as trophies or stickers or something

I know that Dark Samus wouldn't be a moveset clone.

But I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't like for the Metroid reps to be as visually distinct as possible.

My thoughs for new reps are basically Ridley and Gandrayda, as you already all know.
