I don't see Wario leaving anytime soon. He's a hugely popular character, at least outside of Smash (I don't know about within Smash) and the only representative of a major series. Plus, a Wario Ware Assist Trophy's already been revealed, so it's probably a given already that he's back.
I played Project M, and while the Wario Land moves are fine and dandy, I think I like the bike better. No feeling like plowing through your friends while you taunt.
True, but it's the same as my feelings towards Sonic, he was almost inevitable to return, but knowing for sure that he's back is great.

Now's it's Shulk Time!I love the bike. Not to mention you can eat it. Not sure what makes it unwieldy, it handles just fine and is fairly useful for ramming people. Just don't run over a Pitfall on it.
I'd change his down-throw into the piledriver from Wario World, maybe. That's about it.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Y'know what'd be a pretty cool touch for team battles? If certain teams had special victory animations - like if you and a friend were Mario and Luigi, for instance.
Basically like this:
If they stuck with in-continuity team animations, that'd already be cool, but it'd be interesting to see what they come up with in crossover animations, too.
That would be cool.
Also, in the comments of today's Miiverse post-
So, at least Mr. Sakurai remembered. Happy 15th, and here's to Smashing!

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI was 5 when it came out but didn't actually play it until a while after it was out.
Anyway, regarding Wario, I do like Chomp. Not sure if it's really much of a Wario move, but it's practical AND hilarious so I like it. Really, his up-B is the only one I don't have any special fondness for, and there's nothing I can think to replace it with anyway.

I was 12 when it came out on the N64. I didn't play it when it first came out I didn't even own the first Smash Bros. but I played it at my friends houses every day.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI was... uh... (looks around nervously) 19 when the first Smash came out. I was in college, and all my friends thought I was weird for playing an N64 game instead of just having my Playstation on constantly.
My revenge came when Melee came out. All my friends played that. Ness was my main, and everyone made fun of me and underestimated me ("He can't even save himself when he gets knocked off the stage!"). Once. One friend caught on quickly ("Wait, did you just clear the 100 Man Melee... with Ness? The first time you tried?")... but I gave plenty of people learning experiences. Particularly with the Home Run Bat - I was eventually dubbed "the black belt of bat fu."
Consequently, yeah, I still wake up every morning praying that they announce Ness for the fourth game. I still hold hope!
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I was nine when Smash 64 was released. Played it at my then-BFF's house. Our first match was a team battle on Peach's Castle. I was Mario, he was Pikachu (I don't remeber who our opponents were).
Got my own copy of the game sometime after. Didn't unlock Ness until sometime in 2003 (shortly before we got a Game Cube, and Melee with it).
I was 5 when it came out but I first played it when I was 6. In 2001, through a rental from Blockbuster. Since then, I always would go there hoping for a copy that was available. And everytime I was disappointed. :/

Vote. .#Bayonetta 4 Smash@33793 Logically, I know you're right. However, I always fear that they'll remove Ness, even though he's one of the original Smashers. I never take anything for granted when it relates to Earth Bound.
Though if we're walking down memory lane, I still remember the first time I unlocked Ness. I had just beaten Master Hand for the first time, and I had already unlocked Jigglypuff and Luigi, so I wasn't terribly surprised when I got the "challenger approaching" message. But my brain nearly blanked when I saw who it was - even knowing the history of HAL Labs, I didn't see Ness coming. I was incredibly psyched... and spent the next five years explaining who he was to people who never played EarthBound.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. The first Smash Bros. came out when I was 5, and I played it a lot at a friend's house (I didn't have an N64 of my own). Good times were freakin' had.
Also, I always used to think Ness was Ash Ketchum for some reason, until I checked his trophy in Melee two years later and realized, "Oh wow, this guy is completely different!" Not to mention mistaking Samus for a guy.

Eh.

More farting.
In fact, just replace Wario with a fart cloud.
