The map part of the Subspace Emissary was just like Kirby & and the Amazing Mirror. Travelling through rooms all weirdly connected and then having the big fight right in the middle.
Not that that was bad, I had fun with it. And all of those enemies were fun-weird, if painful strong on higher difficulties.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayWell next time don't ruin it when I had something good going.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMRight, he said that the story was gone, because people put the Subspace Emissary online and spoiled everybody.
Which I really don't think is a good reason to cut a story...
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayCan you imagine if other game devs did that?
Bioware: Someone put up our Mass Effect cutscenes on You Tube. No cutscenes for ME4!

@Magcargo: I was thinking of saying that. I still say that an Adventure Mode that's just like The Great Maze would be a fine idea. It was the worst part of SSE, but only because it came after and recycled everything else.

"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"We are not getting an adventure mode? I just thought we were not getting cut scenes.
Anyway, Sakurai did not do Amazing Mirror, not that is relevant on its own but The Subspace Emissary most closely resembles the Dyna Blade (most levels), Great Cave Offensive (The great maze) and Milky Way Wishes (reusing parts of levels and bosses) which all come from a game Sakurai did helm (Kirby Super Star).
That said, most of Tabuu's moves do not come from Marx. The only thing they really have in common is teleporting, which over half of Kirby's end bosses already do.
Buldogue's lawyerNot that that was bad, I had fun with it. And all of those enemies were fun-weird, if painful strong on higher difficulties.
Yeah. the only move Tabuu has that is kinda Marxy is that laser cannon.
It's not even quite as far as that. We know that the cutscenes we do get will be more standalone affairs, unlocked in a theatre mode from the start. And what adventure mode we do get, if we get one, will not be a cutsceney affair like SE.
We know nothing else. Nothing to confirm or deny an Adventure Mode.

I have a message from another time...It is for Sakurai, because that's how he views it. He wants people to earn the story. He even found the ability to re-watch them without going through it silly(but kept it there for obvious reasons).
I don't agree with it either, but I see his point too. The cutscenes were supposed to be earned and he designed the game exactly that way. When people go against his design, him being annoyed is very much justified. A definite overreaction, but his reasons still make sense.
But eh, SSE wasn't that special to me anyway. I myself really don't like cutscenes in a game unless it's the "written dialogue kind", so it doesn't bother me. The only thing I ever liked about them as how good they are for making cool videos, and that's it.
Shadow? He really doesn't come across as annoyed to me. More like "Well, we need to find some other way to reward players, and make the videos free from the start"
Like, he figures that if cutscenes will be watched whenever, there's no reason to lock them in the first place.
I'm expressing no judgement one way or the other on that decision. Just saying that Sakurai bein' mad at Youtube definitely doesn't sound like how it actually went down.

I have a message from another time...People play and watch things as they do. They buy cheating devices, they hold tournaments, and they analyze things to death.
And while of course within his right to deny everyone else something because some people took it and showed it to everyone else (which I don't call piracy...you can upload and watch those videos for free)...
It is a terrible thing to have to accept.

You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would staySpeaking of Tabuu and Marx not actually being similar... the SSB Wiki also makes a claim that "Galleom, in Brawl's Subspace Emissary mode, has a few similar moves to Heavy Lobster from [Kirby Super Star]."
Which is not true. Both of them can rush forward off the screen, and that is it. Heavy Lobster's other attacks are shooting forth Mini-Lobsters, a short-range flamethrower, and that paintball that gives Kirby a power so underused that its presence really sort of defines the Heavy Lobster fight.
a.k.a. Cly, that one girl who doesn't post here much anymore Something something YI = SMW 2 = SMB 5.He's not removing it as a countermeasure to piracy, dammit. He's going for standalone cutscenes, and looking for a different way to make the single player rewarding.
It may well be Sakurai being out of touch, but it isn't Sakurai being mad at Youtube.
There and the Chameleo Arm fight.
hough, honestly, going for Paint if you don't have a Helper just makes the fight longer.

I have a message from another time...He expects as to play though SSE everytime we want to watch the cutscenes? Really?
Feels more like a punishment if you ask me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMNah, he did say "people should earn it", so it seems like he was mad to me from the article. But eh.
Anyway, having extra movies is fine with me too. If there's a story, I'd rather just read the dialogue to get it, as a cutscene without words is just annoying to me. If I didn't get the implications, it goes over my head, and this happens a lot. Dialogue is easier to do. It does come with other issues, like "since when does he talk?", so I understand why dialogueless cutscenes made sense too.
I hope for more special movies instead. I like the tutorials and things, or even the really long one in Melee. Those made me get into the game a bit more, not just one mode.
Shadow?You mean the opening, right?

No, the individual character videos for the non-unlockables.
Of course, it would certainly be nice if this game had a better opening than Brawl's.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guy

Retroactively, however, they resemble the design of new enemies from Kid Icarus Uprising.
