I for one feel Pac-Man should be the first Namco-Bandai character to get in, for legacy & industry importance sake. Anyone from Tekken, Soul Calibur, Tales, etc would be a neat bonus, but Pac-Man first.
And I'm not even a big Pac-Man fan.
You there! Check out my Youtube Channel! The power of Ponies compel you!The problem is, he has nothing to do with Nintendo. He wasn't requested by his creator like Snake, he doesn't have the whole rivalry thing going for him like Sonic/Sega, and he isn't most famous for his NES games like Mega Man. If he gets in, it's because Sakurai is showing favoritism to Namco simply because they're co-developing the game, which is something he explicitly said he wouldn't do.
Pac-Man is important to the industry as a whole, sure, but keep him the hell out of my Smash Bros.

pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSThat's still not a lot to go on. In his games, he does nothing except eat things (and jump and tackle and the like in his platformers, but that's not much more diverse). That's literally his entire shtick. You can't build an entire moveset off of one action, I'm sorry. Not even Sakurai is that good.

But as much as I want to see him in this game, it's most likely not gonna happen.

Eh.Well. I was not aware of the Pac-Man Vs. thing. Color me surprised I guess!
Mario Kart Arcade GP is Namco favoritism though. You could have cut Pac-Man and the missus from that game and lost nothing, except two racers and a small handful of tracks. They didn't need to be in the game at all. (Plus by that logic, Mametchi should be playable too...)

Plus, Yoshimitsu has a lot of cool and unique moves.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.![]()

Spin attacks and ground-pounds don't exactly scream "Pac-Man" though.
I guess I'm also partially gluteus maximus injured over the fact that Smash Pac-Man will probably be at least partially based on his appearance and portrayal in Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. That show... displeases me.

The main character of Tekken is (currently) Jin Kazama...sort of...I guess. Tekken 6 did some weird stuff on that front.
And overall, the central figure of the series is probably Kazuya. The only reason he's not the main character is that he's super evil these days.

I don't know if Soul Calibur can be said to have a single main character, due to its plethora of storylines.
Even if it did, Nightmare's more of a principal antagonist than the main character. And for good reason, considering the spirit's close relationship to the Soul Edge. He's more along the lines of someone like Ganon or Sauron. Someone like Xianghua or Sigfried would be closer.
Yes, I know Sigfried and Nightmare were the same person for a while.
