Well, it does have its uses for some, and it does no actual harm to the Wii Mode functionality. If you don't wish to use the gamepad feature as it is, it's really no different than Wii Mode before the update. I see no compelling reason to not have it. And who knows? Perhaps they'll be able to add in game-pad button functionality later on.

I have a message from another time...I'm hoping the next pic of the day shows off the Waddle Dee throw.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMSo I've figured there's three more Brawl vets that are shoo-ins. Diddy Kong, Wario and Meta Knight. The rest are up for debate.
I think all the first-party Brawl vets that are safe for every Smash Bros would be Pit, Olimar, Wario, Diddy Kong, Dedede and Meta Knight.
I'm hoping Toon Link's return signifies he's gonna be around for more Smash games in the future.

PDP did get some Western exposure though, just with everything that made it charming surgically removed because Western players will explode if they see anime as a Yoshi/Pokemon game.
So basically this.

pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDS
I find that weird, considering how the Pokémon anime is far more popular in Japan than the west.

Incorrect! They actually took a canceled N64 Panel de Pon (eventually released as part of Nintendo Puzzle Collection), made it Pokemon, and released it for Western consumption.

I just wouldn't be sad about it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMI liked ROB. So cute...
I like all characters really, but of the Melee fighters who didn't come to Brawl, the ones I didn't mind were Dr. Mario, Pichu, and maybe Toon Link.
Mario already has something of a clone in Luigi (though I did like Dr. Mario's pills and electric hand), Pichu always hurt itself when it attacked (cute, but bad for fighting XD), and though it was a weird change, I like how Toon Link's got his own style apart from Link and Young Link.
As for cutting Mewtwo, that stung. I never cared as much for Lucario. He wasn't as floaty...and Roy was cool with all his fiery moves, but Ike was fine in being all heavy. Sadly I've never played any Fire Emblem games, so I couldn't appreciate them as much as most of the other characters.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stay
*Young Link
The only cut I didn't like is Mewtwo. Honestly, cutting the most iconic legendary Pokémon. Not on.

It's more "why couldn't" than it is "why wouldn't".
