[up]Nintendo hates Star Tropics for some reason. I don't understand why they do though.

Isn't that a feature of the Wii U, though? (At least, in most Wii U games and all Wii games after a recent firmware update...)

How the heck are you meant to play most Wii games with only the tablet? Do you swing the tablet as you play Wii Sports Tennis? Or what about games with the pointer?

The tablet acs as a screen, and you use a Wiimote to play the game.

Sadly, there is not any functionaliy for using the buttons on the tablet for Wii games yet, wonderful though it would be to be able to off-TV play Xenoblade.

[up]Because it is never referenced in Smash at all.

I didn't recognize the music, but it'd be cool to have another game in that series.

It's not a series if it has only one game.

Oh, that's like saying that Nintendo hates Fire Emblem 4 and 5, for the same reason. Was Urban Champion ever referenced? That's first-party! I really don't know.

[up][up]No. Google does that too.

[up][up][up]It doesn't? Not even in the chronicle?

[up]It's in the Chronicle. But I think it didn't even have a sticker.

[up][up]Fire Emblem as a series is acknowledged. Comparison invalid.

And Sakurai has actually mentioned Urban Champion. So he has at least acknowledged him.

Personally, I think it's more likely they simply forgot about it, rather than actively hating it. And I'm not sure if every Nintendo game is referenced.

I think Urban Champion also got a sticker...?

I'm a little amused by the idea of including him as a pastiche of more typical fighting games, but it probably wouldn't work aside from a short joke, really.

I sure said that!

and I doubt very much they'd risk alienating nearly an entire countries worth of potential buyers (twice, in some cases)

Twice?

[up]I don't think so, but Sakurai has talked about him before.

The only time it'll be annoying is any forced parts, which is beyond easy to avoid by having zero event matches that require you to use him.

If Tingle was playable, I think they would give him an Event Match.

Having Tingle being playable would have even less of an impact.

You sure about that? I don't care if he's in, but I know there'll be riots over this. Not literal riots (I'd hope...), but you know what I mean.

Probably. Against Toon Link, perhaps. Bear with me for a moment on why; It's a reference to how the Child Links love to pop his Balloon in Zelda series proper. He just wants revenge.(mind you, whether the Oracle of Ages Link is considered a child to you or not is... questionable, but eh) Or he could face both.

Or, even better(or not), he could face himself via costumes, representing his 3 brothers, who all want revenge for what he did in WW.

Also, I just had an idea for his Final Smash; Kinstone Fusion. A random selected event occurs with powerful results based around that game. He's not the only one that does it, but does give you a special item for completing them all, so...

Revenge? He's got a bottomless supply of balloons, and popping them is the only way he can do business. Why would he be not happy, let alone upset, when Link pops his balloon and does business with him?

It'd be like Beedle getting mad at Link for getting on his boat.

You only have to pop his Balloon once per area in MM, and twice in Ages at best. Anymore, and you're just messing with him. tongue

But like I said, facing his Brothers was another great event idea.

The game this comes from is terribly obscure, to be sure, but you think something like this would be a good fit for Smash?

Also I would wholly welcome Tingle being playable. If he did get in, I'd laugh long and hard at his many, many detractors.

Adult Link doesn't have to be in that. Probably should anyway just for fun. [lol]

Something I just realized, if the soccer ball is returning, you could totally play your own version of Mega Man Soccer in this game.

The tablet acs as a screen, and you use a Wiimote to play the game.

Sadly, there is not any functionaliy for using the buttons on the tablet for Wii games yet, wonderful though it would be to be able to off-TV play Xenoblade.

Wha...? Why wouldn't they make it so you can do that? Seems to render the entire point of playing on the tablet moot there for Wii games.

Apparently there are more barriers to getting that sort of functionality working than we'd expect.

It's more "why couldn't" than it is "why wouldn't".
