I mean he's not relevant enough.

I'm saying that if they're separate there are two Metroid characters. I don't see Sakurai wanting to go above that limit anytime soon. There's also no point since the two work perfectly fine as the same character.
Nah man. They also have to be completely unique; if even one thing about them is vaguely similar to someone else on the roster, they are going to end up a complete clone.
Also, they have to be relevant to the current game playing audience: they need a well known game released at least 3 years (being generous here) before or after (advertising future products is a thing!) their inclusion in Smash Bros.
They need to fit certain size and body shape specifications. We don't want giant quadrupeds or Ridley, do we?
They need to have unique abilities and motions from their series of origin to flesh out their entire move set. Who ever heard of a character getting made up moves for Smash? No one, that's who. No one at all. Never happened.
Also, they need to be actually popular with people who aren't you. Who cares about some side character from some game I haven't played and thus no one has amirite?
...I am not funny, I'm sorry. I don't think I even hit strawman versions of all of the points for or against a character's inclusion brought up in this thread.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Jigglypuff was one of the more important Pokemon at first because of the anime. Now it's just Grandfather Clause though which is why I'd like to see her replaced. Sylveon would be a good replacement for the pink cute Pokemon.
I shall ask again~
Would anyone object to K. Rool being some sort of grappler? I'm not sure if it'd be possible for a grappler's playstyle to translate into Smash Bros., but if it hypothetically were possible.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaJigglypuff is still one of my favorite characters to play as. I've loved playing her in all 3 games. I didn't much enjoy Lucario at all(character concept was neat, but that was it), Mewtwo was actually pretty trashy and I didn't find him all that great to play as. Neat idea, but the execution of his moves were awful.
Pokemon Trainer I somewhat like, but mostly just Squirtle among the group.(although if only one would stay, Charizard is pretty much obvious for various reasons; Popularity, currently relevant to the Anime, Mega Evolutions) I'd like all three to stay if the character stays at all, since removing any of them will just cause backlash. If the whole character doesn't come back, it'd better be because a 2nd, 3rd, 5th, or 6th Gen Pokemon is taking their place. Otherwise, do not want. But I'm sick of Gen 1 representation. Pikachu and Jigglypuff are excellent, and Mewtwo does a good enough job if you really need a third choice. Show off the other ones more outside of Poke Balls. There's a lot of unique ideas.
Shadow?Someone needs to add all these arguments about Smash to the Broken Base entry and page. The current entries simply don't do justice.
