Yet you frowned upon me for not wanting to miss out on stages. That's pretty Grinchy if you ask me.
Why didn't they do their best to make Toon Link/Ganondorf/Wolf more interesting?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMNo, I just commented on that buying two games that are technically the same one for stages is like buying both pokemon versions in modern era where you can trade them online just to get to see minor differences between the games. Actually, it would be even worse since stages aren't really the main selling point anyway. I would totally buy both pokemon versions of each game alongside the third game if I had more money and now that I heard Smash Bros versions have different trophies I would also want to get both versions if I had more money

@Pac-Man: I agree with what Magcargo said a while back- Pac might be an important vidya game character, but not an important one to Nintendo. And, unlike Snake, Pac-Man doesn't have a huge fanbase that can be migrated into Super Smash Bros. by simply being playable.
I'd be fine with a Pac-Man stage, at least, but even then I'd rather have a Meteos stage from the Namco-Bandai side of things.

No. It's just that Smash has a history of making certain characters not live up to their potential. And not just clone characters.
Zero Suit Samus and Sonic have rather boring movesets in Brawl. Fortunately, Sonic's style looks better in Smash 4.

Good thing Sakurai has said that the stages are transferable. Which he hasn't...
And Smash 4's differences are way bigger than the paired versions of Pokémon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMAnd Captain Falcon didn't?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMI feel like we had this conversation before.
Let's talk about something fresh. Like Ridley. Or Fire Emblem. Or clone characters. Or Project M. Or Pac-Man. Wait shit.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.What game? I don't think there's been a metroid game since... Prime 3?
Was that that game idea where Samus had a voice actor nobody ever heard of, that completely butchered an entire fandom's interpretation of her character, and which left out the biggest part of the metroid games, the exploration?
'Cuz I thought that game spontaneously stopped existing because it was so hated.
@Macgarco: Yeah, but who the heck plays the game for stages? Also, you ignored my Hypocritical Humor about trophies being must get instead
But who the heck in Sora's dev team thought it was a good idea to make people miss out on stuff?
Million's of people are gonna buy the 3DS version because they don't have a Wii U or because the concept of portable Smash Bros is good enough to them. They don't need exclusive stages as an incentive.

The 3DS version will sell heaps. There's plenty of people who don't own Wii Us. There's plenty of people who just want to play Smash on the go.
Don't. justify. this BS.
Why is it that people on this thread keep supporting cynical marketing moves?
Because I thought you were just joking. And you can buy it for whatever reason you want.

Some people don't think a game like Smash could work on a handheld and think the appeal is having four players playing on one TV so they will purchase the Wii U version.
I plan on getting both hopefully they will do what Vita did and allow you to use the same profile between the Wii U and 3DS versions.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventure@paperbritt: We have a thread specifically for Other M discussion though (that's separate from the actual Metroid discussion thread).
I'm amused that aside from his new show and game based on said show, no one brought up that Pac-Man was recently in another fighting game, though for some reason they had him be in a mech (despite other cartoonish characters such as the Japanese Playstation mascots being playable in the same game).
Personally, the only Namco characters I can seriously see getting a spot (even by a long shot; and this is assuming there will be more third party characters in the first place) are Pac-Man, Klonoa (who I prefer, personally), Lloyd or Asbel, or Nightmare/Sophitia. Other characters are probably too obscure for Namco to consider using their third party slot on (to note, Namco × Capcom was supposedly not ported over due to the obscurity of many of the characters and the fact that the Super Robot Wars franchise has trouble selling in the West. Project × Zone had a lot more characters that were familiar faces to Westerners compared to Namco X Capcom, by the way, which was one of the reasons it got ported over - the other being massive fan interest).
RE:Ported Models for trophies: I doubt there would be any complaints if Melee, the first game to introduce trophies, didn't use new models for them in the first place. For some, it ended setting a precedent, which is what they base their opinions on when they propose bringing the hi-res models back. While I personally share some sentiment with the hi-res argument, I do find a certain charm in seeing the original models being used for the trophies in Brawl. Gave some of them a sort of "vintage" feel.
In any case, Saria's model is at least based on her touched-up appearance
◊ from Ocarina 3D, rather than her original N64 model
◊, so I doubt every trophy will just use model/sprite "rips" for their display (though I still expect a "Classic" Pit trophy to show up).

Yay, about $150 to enjoy the content that could have all been in one game!

Good thing Miyamoto is working on this game then.
