People just want him so they can have their Mario/Sonic/Mega Man/Pac-Man match.

...And that's bad because...?
I mean, the whole point of the game is basically "What would it be if Mario fought Link?! Or, or Samus?! WHAT IF EVERYONE FOUGHT?"
It's the video game equivalent of when you'd make your toy Spider-Man fight your Power Rangers.

"We're home, Chewie."Boring is subjective. And there was no explanation to why he was boring. Disregarded until an actual reasoning behind that subjective statement is given.
Pac-Man is not obscure, so that doesn't count. He's very well known.
He's relevant, as has current appearances in media, so that's not much of an argument.
I do like the "there's some other choices I prefer, and here's why" statements. I find those to have some convincing elements to them. Mostly because they're an attempt to convince me why Pac-Man is a bad choice anyway.

I'm sure there is. All 4 of them are huge gaming icons. Having a grudge match between them for fun makes sense.

Shadow?![]()
Because it's a spur of the moment thing where the novelty will wear off.
His current appearances in media consist of a show barely anyone watches and a crap game based on it.
It'd be like advocating Sonic because of Sonic 06.

Well I don't play it because I can make Mario fight Link. I play it because I grew up on Nintendo games and I love the gameplay.
You'd disregard it even if I did explain my reasoning. Like everyone does.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMThe novelty will never wear off in the end.
But that's because making up scenarios was done since the first game, and no Event Match will cull this. Namely because the Event Matches don't cover every player idea.
But that's my point. People know Pac-Man exist. And others know and may or may not like his latest stuff(I found his show somewhat enjoyable myself). So again, obscurity isn't an issue as I said before.

Shadow? You know, I am probably the only one who has no real character wishlist. Like, I have few characters (likeSimon Belmont and maybe Magnus ), but aside that.
Only sometimes posts![]()
Mine is more of a half wishlist/half prediction thing.
It has both characters I want (Bowser Jr, Captain Syrup) and characters that are likely (Little Mac, Isacc).
An argument that could be applied to a lot of characters.
THIS!

x4 And I'm saying you're basing Pac-Man's inclusion on two arcade games from thirty years ago. Sonic and Snake are still very active and Mega Man's been an on-going series for ages and plenty of people are clamoring for more even as it gets Screwed by the Network. No one really cares about anything Pac-Man does anymore, because modern Pac-Man is a C-lister at best.

I sure said that!...That really doesn't change my points.
He's relevant(multiple game appearances, a show), he's well known(does it really matter which version they know of? The character Pac-Man is not obscure or unpopular in the long run. All of his versions more or less blend together, save perhaps his Pac-Man 2 version at best. He can move, jump, eat pellets. His basic premise is more or less kept among most of the series and media), he has great potential for uniqueness. I'm not sure what the problem is. He could possibly get in. Which is entirely my point. He has a possibility of getting in and nothing more.
Shadow? So seriously, you think the Ice Climbers should be 8-bit? :L
Indeed we do. But official policy is no mainspace redirects. Which isn't really well enforced, but...

And yet Ice Climbers having a GBA port, several Virtual Console releases and remixed versions of their game in NES Remix apparently don't count towards them...
They already did in their Melee Trophy.

The difference between Space Invader and Pac Man is that Pac Man has an actual character and Space Invader has always just been "that arcade game".
EDIT: Wait, we seriously don't have a Space Invader article? Dude, that's criminal. What kind of gamers do you call yourselves?
