Too bad I've never played any Punch Out game and thus have no emotional ties to it.
I don't know what's going on here, so I'm just going to list a sort of "Wish List" of things I think would be neat to see in 4... This is mostly color related.
- The Villager's alternate colors would actually just have him change outfits to things that are actually from the Animal Crossing series, probably either referencing other AC characters (such as his blue color being represented as the Villager wearing a blue shirt that has Tom Nook's leaf logo on it, or a yellow shirt like Dr Shrunk's) or being actual outfits one can acquire in the games.
- One of the Villager's victory animations has him looking bashful while Isabelle and a couple of other random characters are congratulating him (ala clapping), referencing his becoming the mayor in New Leaf.
- Mega Man's alternate colors reference some of his more popular weapons in the series (such as Super Mode from 6, his Rush unit coloration, the Metal Blade, etc), rather than just referencing other Mega Man series characters.
- One of his taunts swaps his helmet with the Met
helmet.
- On the same note, Mega Man's green color should reference Met from
◊ Gotcha Force, if not Quint
.
- Mario, Peach, and Bowser have colors that reference their NES sprites (meaning, red with brown overalls Mario, red-headed and white dressed Peach, and a mostly green coloration of Bowser sans his hair).
- Pikachu can keep the hats, but I'd like it if it had colors that referenced the other Pika-clones too.
- One of Pikachu's victory animations is knocking away a yarn ball and then cheering afterwards (Poke-Mon-Amie reference).
- Sonic's colors should no longer just be him with a tint effect.
- Sonic's victory theme will most likely be either his "Act Clear" music from
Sonic 3 & Knuckles, if not his Sonic Lost World Clear theme
, but I would really like it if they used his old clear theme
. Mostly because I really like that version and wish to hear a newer variation of it.
- Also, this needs to be in the game
, preferably in Sonic's stage, since, to me, it sounds like a Sonic Team-styled variation of the song.
- The Wii Fit Trainer, to make her even more uncanny, should just have a monotone scream if she's sent skyward (granted, I don't know if they've already shown videos that let us hear samples of her voice in 4).
- Kirby's Final Smash should be changed to where he'll randomly get one of three one-time only moves from his games: the Cook ability, the Mike ability, and the Crash ability.
And that's about it. I'm only half-serious about most of this; I just wanted to post it before I go to bed and forget.

I decided to make another dream roster.
I updated it with some of the characters we found out about since I made my last one. Red borders signify characters that have to be unlocked.

I recognize everyone but Zael and Aeron, though I'm guessing they're from the same game as Shulk (which I've forgotten the name of).
Nice to see Ray in there though.

Interesting, though I'd say it would end up negating the main reason Sheik's still in Smash in the first place.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyThere we go.
I just removed the random icon. There are now fifty character slots with twenty-five unlockables.

Not fond of that idea. It basically takes up a character slot for no reason which would prevent us from having a fifth Zelda character.

I'd say that if they were removing Sheik from Zelda's moveset, it would be an opportunity to swap Sheik for a more lasting character, possibly also from the Zelda series, who can use Sheik's moves.
I would say that, except saying that is suicide, so this is only a hypothetical satement.
Also am not saying it because entertaining the thought would perpetuate the thinking that the Phantom is a new special move for Zelda, which I continue to find extremely unlikely.

Well, that explains that one boss from Gunstar Heroes.
