I like the Game Cube Controller slightly more than the N64 one. But only because the Taunt button is easier to reach. Also, the later games allow for more colors. So X/Y is better that way.
Shadow?Because they didn't know that the future would bring a better controller.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMOr they liked the N64 controller better. Not really impossible.
I wouldn't say it's truly better, to be honest. I find the Game Cube's control stick horrid most of the time. It's super sensitive, where the N64 controller has a very accurate control stick. It also has a better button setup, with a small exception of the L-Button and D-Pad at best.
But then I have a special controller that has a somewhat similar shape to the Game Cube controller. I don't know if it got made after the Game Cube controller, but it's still lop-sided in design. Has all the buttons, a very sturdy and great control stick, comfortable buttons, is very responsive. That's not counting the Joypad for the N64. Which is also an amazing controller for any technical fighters(like Fighter's Destiny). And yes, I do prefer the N64 Controller(regular) to the Game Cube one. At least I don't lose control of my guys due to sensitivity. It's really easy to play games with it. I can barely play Ocarina of Time on the GC controller as is. N64? Easy as pie.
Shadow?Doesn't change my point in any way; Some prefer the N64 controller to the Game Cube controller.
It's all subjective. Which was my actual point.
And that's understandable in your opinion. Which I respect.

Shadow? You realise both me and the person I was responding to were both talking about before the Gamecube existed, right?
Sure, liking something better than something that didn't exist yet sure is possible.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMI wasn't talking about the past at all.
I've used both. Game Cube controller is still my least favorite, really, of them all. Well, regular controller styles. I'm not counting Wii Remote + Nunchuck. That's my true least favorite for consoles. It goes Wii Remote + Nunchuck < Game Cube Controller < NES Controller/Wii Remote on side(they're effectively the same) < SNES Controller < Classic Controller(and variants of the same) < Any Joystick Controllers < N64 Regular Controller < N64 Super Pad(the huge one with a super sturdy and comfy stick) < N64 Super Pad(this is very similar to the GC design. Only difference is that it has more buttons on the right side, like the regular N64 controller design)
I can see why others prefer the Game Cube controller. Understandably really. Very accessible buttons and all. But I can see why others prefer different ones. Never saw an issue with any of these choices.
Shadow?Space Jawa: And yet, somehow people managed before the Game Cube existed.
Me: Because they didn't know that the future would bring a better controller.
You: Or they liked the N64 controller better. Not really impossible.
Given the context, the only thing that can be gathered is you replying to my comment, which directly replying to about before the Gamecube existed.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMThis is really what I was responding to overall. The whole idea that it's the only controller that can work for it. Which I entirely disagree with in the end.
Shadow?
Arrows next time would be helpful. The lack of them made it look as if you were replying to me.
the Classic Controller. I much preferred the design.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMI think it was less that and more "The Gamecube controller has been a big part of playing Smash Bros and it's weird to lose that association".
Honestly, I think it's dumb how consoles are only backward compatible with only one generation.
If the GBA can play classic Gameboy/Gameboy Colour games, why can't the Gameboy Advance slot of the DS do that?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMThe Gameboy Advance slot was specifically designed to not accept GB/C cartridges. It has ridges to only allow a GBA game.
And it did come off to me as "GCN Controller is best. This is a fact.", so I responded accordingly. As I said, I can understand why people prefer it, and that's perfectly fine.

Well I've never seen Game Grumps, but the first part of that makes me uneasy.
