What's wrong with item we already have?
Honestly, the only item I can actually see being replaced is the Fire Cracker Launcher being replaced with the Kid Icarus Uprising one, and that's only because Sakurai clearly based it on the Brawl one.

I only just realised he meant "blocks" as in blocking, and not blocks as in, big cubes.
Trying to find a specific Jo Jo video to explain it since one character's entire trait is to get super armor if he gets taunted(not even supers will stop him from punching your face in).

That's the idea I had for Toon Link's new Down Special: Iron Boots.
He does a short hop and equips the Iron Boots (just like in Wind Waker). The move only lasts for a second, like a Counter move, but instead of countering, he just takes the full damage of the attack but none of the knockback.
So if you have like 200% damage, and someone tries to throw a bob-omb at you, use the Iron Boots to prevent being KOed. You'll take damage, but won't budge.
Also, if used in mid-air, he speeds toward the ground, doing massive damage to mid-air opponents, and driving foes on the ground into the ground. Do not use in mid-air if over a gap.
EDIT: Sakurai talks
about balancing.
Woo Bowser buff!
Also this is pretty cool.

Speaking of Jojo references...
You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it.

Meh, doesn't that apply to Kirby's Stone special too?
Dat Art
(also I started playing Awakening which I got for Christmas. Woo!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMThe way you advertised Iron Boots is that you considered the super armor as the main point and damage second. Stone Kirby really is "Fall down on your enemies while invincible and stay in there if you need to project yourself). Besides, woulld Iron Boots then be clone of Stone Kirby? I mean, I don't think the way advertised it make it sound they are the same (Stone Kirby can still do damage on ground), but still.
And inb4 Robin's appearance isn't always like that.
Only sometimes postsI think Iron Boots would have a few differences. You can hit Kirby and force him out of Stone. You can't for Iron Boots. And Iron Boots doesn't seem to have the terrible startup/end lag of Stone.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaNow that I think around it, do Iron Boots even allow you to not suffer any knockback from enemies? In Zelda games, that is? Only times I believe you use Iron Boots to prevent some one to knock you around is with the Gorons in TP.
And should Stone Kirby be like invincible in Kriby games? Just asking.
Only sometimes postsIron Boots makes you wide open to attacks from above and the sides+makes you get stuck to the ground for a few seconds. It would basically be a worse downward stab/Kirby Stone.

If you get hit with strong attacks you go flying and the boots are dequipped. This makes the Goron wrestling match boss bad because if you miss you have to get up from the ground, position yourself and then equip the boots again. IIRC.
You know what series is totally getting a character? Rhythm Heaven.
In all seriousness though, I'd love to see something that represents that series, like a stage, an assist trophy, or at least
a music track
or medley.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."
The Chew Toy of Gaming
I bet people would call it the worse older brother of the Mario Bros. stage if it did get in.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.I would get a kick out of using Luigi's Final Smash and letting those caught in it get insta'KO'd by the barrels. Because you know they would be insta-K Os.

Well, they did use one of the levels from the original game anyway, so...close enough?
Something all of the games so far have been severely lacking is Elite Beat Agents representation. I wish they could put music from it in there (I would totally kill to hear and fight to a high-quality version of the game's rendition of "Jumpin' Jack Flash")...but I can imagine that'd be licensing hell.
...oh, what's that? You've never heard that game's rendition of "Jumpin' Jack Flash"? Prepare your ears, then, 'cause it's a gas!
There are some minor similarities, but when I thought of the move my sole and only inspiration was the animation for Link putting on Iron Boots in Wind Waker.
What Classic said. Iron Boots makes Toon Link invincible to knockback, so nothing can faze him (he'll still take the full damage though). The move lasts like a second or two (think Counter). If you wanna see how fast I'm talking, watch some footage of Wind Waker with Link equipping the Iron Boots. And as TPPR 10 said, it doesn't do damage to opponents if used on the ground.
Stuff that Classic didn't mention: The move can't be cancelled or extended. So unlike Kirby where you can stay in stone for like 5-6 seconds and can cancel it earlier, Toon Link's lasts like a second, and can't be cancelled. It's not good for close up combat, but it's mainly for resisting explosions, thrown items, smash attacks, and the like. It's a move you have to use strategically.
There's also the whole "use in mid-air to drive opponents into the ground" thing. Not only is that handy but it suits his cartoonish nature.
That's exactly where I got the anti-knockback idea from. Since Link is traditionally a Composite Character, I thought it wouldn't hurt if we made the Iron Boots a composite item.
No, because then I'd have to think of a new Down B for Toon Link.
Actually, the duration of the move is really short.
Yep, driving opponents into the ground via Death from Above is certainly less ideal than simply hitting them.
Because it'd be even more unwiedly than 75m?
Oh dear, Mario Bros. All you had to do to KO someone was pick up a Shellcreeper or Sidestepper and throw it at someone. Ridiculously overpowered. They could KO at like 20%.
Speaking of which, I really hope Luigi keeps Negative Zone. And that Sakurai changes his mind and cuts Fireball for Thunderhand.
Ryuta from Ouendan is on my Bingo Card.

As much as I would love for Agent J to be a character, I think the EBA would work best as an assist trophy. They can come in and play music from their summoner's series to boost up their strength.

I know that's what you meant. But it's change for the sake for change.
