Not sure about Metroid but in Brawl, when she goes to jump, you see a small little burst of light on her back that would seem to indicate rocket booster thingies. Or maybe it's the double jump... Can't remember but I know it is there.
In the Prime series, she has the ability to double jump, and I'm pretty dang sure that it's justified/enabled by the existence of booster rockets on her back. Which I think is the same case for Brawl. If you look at her armor from those series, I'm pretty sure that there's something in the back there that looks very much like they could be the very same rockets she's using for double jumping.
I know she has the design of boosters in her appearances. I just don't know if she uses them outside of Brawl specifically. As in, the jets firing.
But anyway, glad at least one game is confirmed for her using them. It's simply a matter of watching her double jump and such and see if flames come out.
I'm sure she does use them even without it, arguably implied. Well, anyway, cool.
To be honest, I didn't even remember seeing anything but the cutscene itself, that is, where she fought. I never count cutscenes to be actual stages by default, really.
Unless she fought on the stage during the Trailer when regularly fighting(not a cutscene), which I forgot, it's definitely news to me.
Also, this. We don't all assume the same stuff, after all.

Shadow? Was her battles on the stage itself? Not just part of the cutscene?
Because that's different. If it was just a big cutscene on the stage, means nothing. It's when we see normal battles on the stage that it means something. Was the stage shown with people regularly fighting on it, outside of a cutscene specifically? Because I don't remember that at all. I remember Battlefield, but that's about it.
Shadow? The trailer Rainbow Road looked different from 7's Rainbow Road, though!
Anyways, yay Rainbow Road!
Looked a little like Wii's, but I'm only saying that because of the steep slope that Kirby rides off of.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaFrom my understanding aren't the two versions supposed to have different stages? The WiiU version having console stages and the 3DS version having handheld stages. Then again Rainbow Road is from the Mario Kart series which covers both so I guess it'll be in both versions.

Because giving Mewtwo a form/mega evolution is a cynical marketing move that should have never happened.
