But they weren't even malicious. I was joking around and saying it made me want to unleash my rage, and he was joking around saying that we should watch out for my rage.
Both thumped.

Well, I didn't care you made it about me, because I knew you were joking around.
If you feel your post was unfairly thumped I think you're allowed to talk with mods about it, but I'm not sure.
Sorry that yer little gangsta ragefest got thumped.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaDonkey Kong is absolutely his own franchise. While he historically got his start by playing opposite Mario and has popped up along side the plumber from time to time (Mario Kart, Mario Party, Mario vs Donkey Kong), Donkey Kong has his own identity with his own, unique supporting cast, and could easily exist apart from Mario with the likes of the Donkey Kong Country series, Diddy Kong Racing, and more.
Likewise with Wario. While he started as a Mario antagonist, he too has gotten his own break out branched out franchise with numerous games that have nothing to do with Mario and a wide array of supporting characters who have nothing to do with the Mushroom Kingdom and Mario's own adventures.
At this point, you could almost say that any time Mario appears in the same game as Wario or DK, it's more a crossover than anything.
Yoshi is an arguable case, where he doesn't have quite the unique side series as the other two. A case could be made for him still just being a supporting character or being another spin off, but it would be far harder than with Wario or DK. Personally, I'd say he's still a supporting Mario character. A breakout supporting character, but a supporting character all the same.
Waluigi doesn't have that. He has no identity outside the Mario franchise, Brawl In The Family aside. Neither does Luigi - he's still Mario's brother and he really hasn't had his own game in any way that doesn't directly tie into Mario.
I still wish Waluigi would be incorporated in a Puzzle-Platformer-y Wario Land game based around slapstick-y abuse between him and Wario, or at least get a round of microgames in WarioWare.
I sure said that!At the very least, maybe they could, say, appear together as dual antagonists in a Donkey Kong game or something like that. Like they show up to steal a bunch of Golden Banannas from DK's crew and the minions that DK would fight in that game would have some sort of Wario Ware theme to them.

I actually think Waluigi could add something if he partnered with Wario in a Wario Land game. Wario has transformations and powers, but Waluigi has his own unique set of skills. They could certainly do something akin to perhaps Super Mario Bros. 2 USA or even Super Mario 64 DS in how getting through the levels work. Waluigi can freakin' swim in the air. That's awesome.
Shadow?I was initially confused and annoyed when I heard Rosalina was going to be in the game (we already have two waifs in a dress) but seeing the video put that all to rest.
Still, I get the feeling the number of Mario characters is probably going to be cut back in the event Nintendo sticks around long to decide it wants to release Smash Bros 5.
Buldogue's lawyerIs it odd that the big thing I'm thinking about right now is how they're going to do the victory themes? I really hope they bring the bassline back for Kirby's victory theme. And actually do their own version of Sonic's.
Oh, and separate Ness and Lucas' themes.
But keep the Lo Z Victory Theme the way it was in Brawl, or at keep it close. That one was amazing. In fact, the Lo Z Victory themes have gotten steadily more awesome as the series has gone on.

I heard that they were planning that way back, but haven't heard much about it since. It'd be pretty cool if true - it'd give the music department a chance to interpret every characters' personality with different variations, which should be fun to listen to.
Plus, it brings in the opportunity for character-specific victory themes from different games: DK's could be the DKC Bonus Room theme is always is, while Diddy's could be from DKC 2, for instance.
Ooh, that's fun to think about. I'd love it if Pokemon Trainer got this.

Donkey Kong.
He appeared in Donkey Kong 3.
He's actually never appeared in a Mario game. Just DK, Wario Ware, Melee, and Game & Watch.
Shadow?Well, it's definitely
◊ him on the cover.
Well, regardless, DK is where he fits under best since that's where he originated from. He's got a cameo in Wario Ware via the minigames, and you could argue a cameo in Greenhouse instead of being the main character.
Shadow?

So the posts where me and Odie were joking around got thumped...
Are you freakin serious?
