Out of the newcomers, Wii Fit Trainer and Rosalina and Luma. As for veterans, Toon Link so far.

I have no idea.
Hard to say. They seem to only reveal the veterans if either A) a game of theirs has just been released/re-released, so Sakurai gives them the spotlight for a while, or B) there's some other meaningful reason to introduce a vet. So far, I don't think any of the vets have been revealed without some sort of special implication given for them on the day of each individual vet's reveal (though I'm probably wrong on that one since I don't think Marth's reveal coincided with anything other than Awakening - or was it Shadow Dragon? -, which didn't technically star him).
That said, anyone feel free to correct me on this. I'm quite sure I'm just forgetting details or misremembering things anyway.
On the same note, what I want to know is, who will be the "old-school" surprise reps in this installment, if any? I don't think the first game really had anynote , but the Ice Climbers were the surprise rep in Melee, as well as Mr. Game & Watch. Brawl gave us a redesigned Kid Icarus Pit and R.O.B., so I'm sort of anticipating a trend here. This is sort of the reason I'm leaning towards Little Mac being playable, but who knows...
EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, the Ice Climbers and Pit probably fit into a different category than what I was thinking of. They seem to fall under a "Oh crap! Wasn't expecting that character!" category, which, as far as the fourth game is concerned, consists of both the Villager and the Wii Fit Trainer for now.
@NES Classic:
- Vets: Peach of course, and Pit, now that I've played a little of Kid Icarus Uprising (which I still haven't beat; the control scheme is kicking my ass). Toon Link and Samus as well. I'm hoping Pokemon Trainer makes it in since he was my primary main in Brawl.
- Newcomers: Wii Fit Trainer, Mega Man, and Rosalina & Luma.

I don't think Little Mac would count as a "suprise" old-school rep, given his Wii game and how he was an Assist Trophy in Brawl.
Surprise old school reps tend to be the ones that aren't referenced too much in Smash beforehand.
EDIT: Pokemon Trainer was also my main in Brawl, but nowadays I kinda realise I was more interested in him for the concept, as he's a little awkward to use gameplay-wise. Well, mainly Charizard as he's kinda slow, but yeah.
Still think Pokemon Trainer's awesome though.

Would Takamaru really be a surprise if everyone is expecting him?
I've seen him show up on a lot of wishlists and fan rosters nowadays.
Also, I don't think Balloon Fighter's gonna happen considering Villager stole the move that would be his recovery.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMSome people (me included) want Takamaru, and are thinking he has a shot, due to him showing up in Nintendoland alongside larger Nintendo franchises (and Balloon Fighter), which gives one the impression that he's not forgotten.

I have a message from another time...Now, what really would be a truly unexpected surprise old-school character would be Mach Rider.
Imagine if they brought him back. Like, he wouldn't fight on his bike (except for Final Smash/Special Move), but he'd be this really tough guy who fights brutally with curb stomps and powerful hits and stuff.

Well now that I think about I did see to side by side screenshots of the game where the Mach Rider is standing there and one is in the suit and the other is a chick.
Well, she'd be this really tough woman then.
EDIT: Man, the trophy in Melee didn't even make me think it was a woman.
DOUBLE EDIT: No, actually I'm pretty sure he's a guy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMAs far as vets go, I've mained Mario since the original SSB, and I'll continue to do so with Sm4sh. But I played as Wario a lot in Brawl, as well.
For confirmed newcomers, I'm definitely gonna give Mega Man and Rosalina a try.
And if Little Mac makes it in, there's no doubt that I'll main him.
...hmm, I tend to main characters based on how much I like them in their original games, it seems.

So, of the confirmed newcomers, roster, and unrevealed veterans who is Everyone planning to main?
Since Toon Link (my Brawl main) is back I plan on using him, but for the most part I'm going to use Mega Man. Because Rock is awesome.
Jolly good pagetopper indeed. :3
