I hate it when people suggest you should just "Use that character you don't like as a punching bag" because they apparently feel beating up a character makes up for the exclusion of another.

I prefer Toon Link since I've always seen Link as a kid anyway.

@Gamexplain video: I didn't notice the Luma changes colors. I'm definitely thinking that that'll affect the Luma's attributes, and if it does, it means that Rosalina essentially plays like a variation of Olimar. Either way, I'm expecting her to be a Difficult, but Awesome-style character (most puppet fighters tend to fall into that category anyway).

I also didn't notice FLUDD making a reappearance. I hope its properties have been buffed a little, since I recall it not being terribly useful in Brawl.

Another game without Mario Tornado being Mario's Down B... *sigh*

I'm a little surprised Rosalina acts so callous about her lumas in this game considering she's supposed to be their caretaker, although she did said say Lumas are reborn when they die in Galaxy's ending, so...

[up] Yeah, so? I wanted buttstomp instead of either Tornado or FLUDD and I am like "meh" with FLUDD

Also, some one brought up that maybe the different colored Lumas are to make so that players don't mixed up their Lumas with opponent's Lumas. The game is still WIP so Rosalina might not yet have her palettes set. Or they don't want to spoil what her's are.

I'm reminded of Palutena and her Centurions.

Again, polygons. Don't feel pain or regret. kind of childish to pretend they're receiving some retribution.

Retribution? Making up for exculsion?

Hardly. No, it's all about letting me beat up on a character I hate and venting my anger about their inclusion directly out onto the source.

You know, kind of like a digital stress ball of sorts.

[up][up][up][up]And there's already two characters who have that as their Down B. Don't make Mario have clone moves.

[up]Well I do. Why the heck would you want to take steps back with movesets?

"Look at Mario. He's not a clone character. Let's get rid of his non-clone Down Special for the sake of giving him something two other characters have."

Change for the sake of change. Adding something when his old move works fine as it is. Don't you see anything wrong with that way of thinking? He can ground pound in his games? So what? Bowser and Yoshi could ground pound way before Mario.

I prefer Toon Link simply because he's more nimble and agile than Regular Link, but, then, I have no emotional attachment to the Zelda franchise beyond liking its music, so, yeah.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

You know, I really can't help but wonder how many people would care about the return of Toon Link if things were flipped and it were Link who was considered the better character to use instead.

I'd still want Toon Link back. He represents a different set of games, which I found important when it comes to choosing representation as well. He's also quite distinct, having his design in different games, that also has different items which bring about different gameplay. Phantom Hourglass and Wind Waker's Boat-based gameplay is rather different from Twilight Princess' Epona and Wolf-based gameplay.

So they feel like very different games, and while they have some of the same items, they have a lot of different ones. They're hardly the same experience. I agree they could be repped better, but I still believe both belong in Smash.

Another possibility for decloning Toon Link, give him the Roc's Cape and the Pegasus Boots, so he'll be able to run super-fast and glide, and the Titan's Mitt so his attacks will have more knockback. Also, his arrows could be Bomb Arrows, which explode and set you on fire.

I still fail to see how the "toon" games are different enough to warrant their own version of Link any more than the different versions of the non "toon" games. You want separate representation for the Toon games, you might as well be open to representation for the 8 and 16-bit originals. Or a third/fourth "Majoras Mask" Link while you're at it.

[up][up]If Toon Link's gonna glide, it should be via Deku Leaf.

[up]Because the artstyle is more distinct from other Zelda games.

Toon Link is still very popular and his artstyle is among more games. ALBW is in one. He could being gone with the most shown for the Child variation. But eh, who knows.
