...Son, I'm disappointed and sad.

For your edification:

(Just "some of their songs" isn't enough! You need to listen to their key albums!)

Is that really their best song? It's so generic...

[up][up]That is one of their best albums.

I also like the self-titled "White Album".

@Cassidy: I posted an entire album, not a song. And the music on that album is not "generic"; it was the first of its kind. Seriously?

Like, seriously, all modern music would likely not have been possible without their innovations. Y'all need some reeducation.

Beatles are sorta overrated. They're good, yeah, but not godlike like some people say.

Also, just like how I deride Krystal for most of her supporters just being attracted to her, a huge part of the Beatles' popularity was teeny boppers. tongue

Not saying anything about the Beatles quality, but just because something lead to good things later on does not mean it itself must be good.

[up][up]In their early days, certainly, but later on, their music became much more complex and musically interesting and innovative and gaaaaah you people @_@

[up]Fair enough, but this is one of those cases where one can make a pretty good case for good/good.

Well sorry then, but I highly doubt that music as a whole would suffer if they weren't around. Maybe it'd be different, but no. The process of discovery relies on lots of redundancy, not single super-geniuses.

Anyway, this isn't remotely relevant. :L

Just look into the history of recording and how much they contributed to it, as well as how many artists cite them as influences, even to this day.

Eh, whatever.

So, how about that Waluigi?

I don't see why Waluigi's maligned. He has his own personality, which is pretty different from any of the other characters.

[up]I guess it is just that he hasn't starred in his own game like Wario and was invented by Camelot Software Planning and not R&D1 or EAD.

He also has only appeared in the spin-off titles starting with Mario Tennis in 2000.

So anyway...

This digusts me:

Base Breaker: Rosalina. On one hand, many fans are excited to see her and find her Luma-themed moveset creative. On the other, some hate her for potentially being chosen over Waluigi or Toad or for simply being yet another Mario character.

First of all, Toad was pretty much deconfirmed when Sakurai posted that pic of the day promoting the release of Super Mario 3 D World with all four of it's protagonists and Toad was still one of Peach's moves in it (so I changed it to Bowser Jr on the YMMV).

But also, Toad would be absolutely boring. Whenever he's playable in a Mario platformer, the only difference he has is his stats. The only special I could think of would be plucking vegetables, but Peach already took that special. Why would you want Toad when you could have Rosalina's unique fighting style? Not to mention there are more interesting options instead of Toad, like Bowser Jr and Waluigi.

Which brings us to the next part; Waluigi. He's never been in a platformer, like, at all. Rosalina may not have appeared in as many games as Waluigi, but she actually appeared in important ones (Galaxy duology and 3D World). Also, Waluigi never has consistent abilities. In one game he's making whirlwinds, in another he's swimming though the air, and in the next he's summoning purple bramble vines. Nintendo doesn't even know what to do with him!

And lastly, the "or for simply being yet another Mario character." part. Mario is the flagship franchise of Nintendo. It's one of the most iconic gaming franchise of all time. Of course it will and should get the most characters. Funny how fans were okay with five Zelda characters in Melee and Brawl and six Pokémon characters in Brawl. Or more disturbingly, funny how they didn't care that Mario had five characters in Melee when the fifth character was the ultimate filler character and the most undeserving character in the history of Smash Bros. Bias!

End rant.

Toad could release toxic spores, or infect you with fungal parasites.

[up][up]You know what? I agree 100% with that. Not only is she a fan favorite, but she also brings something very unique to the table.

[up]I'd rather have someone that does something that actually resembles their actual game appearances. (Captain Falcon is the only exception).

[up][up]If you don't have enough for an entire moveset than you also gotta think about the character's personality too(Negative Zone).

Waluigi can at least be argued to rep the sports games, which... well, we also have the Mario Golf and Tennis OCs.

No clue why any sane man would want Toad, though.tongue

Just because it's a flagship series doesn't excuse giving it too many characters.

[up][up][up]Heck, even Miyamoto doesn't understand his popularity! [lol]

[up][up][up][up]I'm pretty sure Toad's personality isn't the type to give others fungal parasites...

[up][up]Yes it does. Mario is the face of gaming. His series DESERVES five characters.

Games should be repped based on how many games they have. It's not fair if some series have more characters with a small amount of games while others have less when they have more games.

Oh wait...
