PART 2
That's a cool idea.
I don't understand.
Heh.
This is a good moveset by the way. Very creative.
Yeah, it did look nice.
No I wouldn't. I hope there's room for one more Mario character though. I don't want to wait another 8 years to play as Bowser Jr.
the fancy rules state that the less fingers you use to hold something the fancier you are
More recent than Ness.
Firstly Ike is the only lord besides Marth to be the star of more than one game, second part is an opinion.
Here you go.
Two cuts don't make a right. Not to mention Mewtwo almost made it in.
Honestly you people seem awfully trigger-happy when it comes to axing Brawl newcomers.
Also Toon link, who everyone said would be cut, says "Hi!".
No.
And then Sakurai said the Ice Climbers were in jeopardy so that doesn't mean much.
Double no.
Agreed.
Star Fox has had only six games and one was a port. It does not deserve four characters.
I'm a little confused here. If Metroid got a third character and not a slot, that would mean Samus would have two characters she could become.
NO! That's pretty much pure advertising. Shameful.
Same here. Both deserve to return.
You know the reason most of the original twelve because they are the main characters of their series/game right? As for Luigi he's a very important Mario character, and Jigglypuff was still relevant by Melee, and got into Brawl because Grandfather Clause and because they were running out of time and it was easier to add her.
Not sure if serious...
What? Parallel universe? Since when?
Same here.
Really not sure if serious...
That's a cool idea.
Yeah that's all, so don't be afraid. Sorry for the big posts, but there was a lot of stuff going on those last nine pages.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMGotta love Luma's little angry eyebrows.
@Wario's appearance: Well, he did appear in a whiteboard full of SSB characters' drawings Sakurai uploaded a good while back. I wouldn't say he's at risk of getting the axe.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."@Magcargo: The Jojo character thing is referring to how the luma works like a Stand in Jojos Bizarre Adventure.
The jist of it is that Jojo characters (after a certain point) can summon this thing called a Stand. Its like a manifestation of their fighting spirit, and it usually has some weird powers. Humanoid Stands tend to hover behind or in front of the user and attack alongside them.
After Part III, most Stands were named after songs or music. Typically Western music, but Ride On Shooting Star was the first star based song that somehow involves celestial bodies in some way or form that jumped to mind. Champagne Supernova might work (the second said song to jump to mind)...
Jump to 1:21 for the Stand users. Or don't. Its all pretty great.
If you have time, and if you don't mind a good manga, I'd honestly recommend reading Jojo.
The first two parts are animated now, too, so you can skip the horrendous artwork stage.

This game existed because it's the ultimate love letter to Nintendo's history. Sakurai swapped the randoms for Nintendo characters because of atmosphere
"Of course. I asked to use Nintendo characters since it was so hard to accurately convey to the players the atmosphere of the gaming world where they play a fighting game on home console. You have to have some main characters in a fighting game, and when you line up character 1, character 2, character 3 and so on, the main characters end up blurring together. With a game for the arcade, it’s okay for character development to take a backseat since players are content with the fighting. With a fighting game for the home console, however, you have to set up the general image or the atmosphere of the gaming world right from the start or else the game suffers. That’s why I asked to use Nintendo characters."

Thanks.
EDIT:Y'know, I'm really glad some people replied to my mega post. I was afraid everyone would be all like "tl;dr" and ignore it. So thank you 0dd1 and zeromaeus.

Bah. Can't be purely advertising when it includes characters who haven't had a game in forever and still don't even with their Smash appearences boosting recogniion.
Oh, since Mario Galaxy 1. When you collect 120 stars, she's able to take you to "a new world", and the Observatory vanishes off somewhere. That opens up Luigi mode, which takes place in an alternate version of events where one of two Luigis is the hero. And her appearance in Galaxy 2 might be something similar? It's a bit ambiguous. But she does know Mario's name already...

The only trap I see is the trap of believing there is a trap where there isn't a trap. That's the true trap.
I know about Luigi Mode; I've got all 121 stars with both Mario and Luigi. But is Luigi Mode even canon though? (inb4 "Mario has no canon")
Also, it really bugs me that others don't understand Galaxy 2 in terms of it's relation to Galaxy 1's ending. I figured it out the first time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMMario Galxy 1's ending was... A bit out there, but the implication seems to be that the Lumas sacrificed themselves to create more matter than the black hole Bowser's Galaxy Reactor turned into could take in, ultimately resulting in them waking up at the Star Festival in a slightly altered universe, slightly before the game starts. Mario Galaxy 2 seems to take place in the same time period as 1.

I sure said that!By popular demand, I'm trying my hand at another codec.
"You know who she is, Lady Palutena?"
"Yes. Rosalina comes from Mario's world, where she's the protector of the cosmos, and mother to the stars."
"Do you mean figuratively, or literally?"
"Figuratively a mother, and literally stars, Pit. See that little one helping her fight? That's Luma. He's a star child"
"So he grows up to be... a star?"
"Or a planet, or even a galaxy!"
"Whoa. They must eat a lot."
"You would know, wouldn't you, Pit?"
"Aheheh..."
"As the protector of the Lumas, the Lumas are also willing to fight for her. So be aware of where they both are. Don't underestimate Luma just because he's cute!"
"So, Luma's like a guardian who keeps her safe from harm, while she uses her magic? Heh. Kinda reminds me of you and m-"
"So I suggest taking Luma out first!"
"..."
I figure Galaxy 2 is a parallel world, but Rosalina from 1 shows up in search of Luma.
Of course, it could also be a parallel Rosalina.
But dimensional ravel does happen. I think the Faceship also does it? Not on as grand a scale, though.

I have a message from another time...My first thought was that it was the events of the original Galaxy taking place in the Reset Buttoned universe. My other thought was that it was Rosalina telling the Lumas a story loosely based on the first game's events.
I really felt kind of bummed when Miyamoto decided to ditch the little pieces of story from SMG2 altogheter; I enjoyed that little detail from the original.
Not bad.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Here's how I saw it. The universe was destroyed. Rosalina restores it and pulls a Mewtwo Strikes Back where everyone is sent back before the events of the plot. This explains why the Star Festival happens in Galaxy 2 even though it's meant to happen once every 1000 years. It also explains why Bowser pulls a similar plan to last time and Rosalina has to reintroduce herself to Mario.
EDIT: Pretty similar to what Pulse said.

Aw. For a moment I thought you meant a Snake codec.
That last bit was pretty funny though.
edited 19th Dec '13 5:35:47 AM by MagcargoMan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMI dunno. Mario's cry of "Welcome new galaxy!" at the end, and all the charcters showing up, makes me thik he didn't forget.
If anything, I think the Grand Finale Galaxy is the actual rebooted Star Festival.
Sorry. I know how to make Pit codecs better than Snake ones.
And yeah, I understand that sayiing "Codec" has connotations of Snake.

Well he heard Rosalina's voice telling him something after the reset based on the last bit of dialogue.
Maybe some of the words prior to that lingered.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMNope. It happens in-game.
EDIT: GAH Ninja'd!
Which is why Falco has to go.
edited 19th Dec '13 5:45:11 AM by MagcargoMan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMEven if we ditch Falco, adding both Krystal and Slippy brings us back to the original problem of over-reping Star Fox.
That is, as in more than three reps.

I really dislike how they based it off Balloon Fighter when AC has it's own balloon thing that could have been used as a recovery. He could have been holding onto a present with a balloon tied to it.
But as for the recovery being judged on it's own merits, it's pretty cool. I noticed in the Rosalina trailer the balloons were blue instead of red. I wonder if it's based on the player's number (ie. Red balloons for P1, blue for P2, etc.)
