Yarn Yoshi isn't suppose to be Yoshi's island type game....Its suppose to be like Yoshi's story and baby Mario being there on his back isn't really necessary...or making sense.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I don't really think it's necessary. A little excessive, in fact- Mostly because I don't think anyone really likes Baby Mario. Plenty tolerate him, a few hate him, but there's little liking for the character. The mechanic gets some degree of praise, sure, but it's one that doesn't work for Smash- All adding Baby Mario would do is make Yoshi much more annoying to play as and fight against.
I sure said that!I preferred Yoshi's Story well over Yoshi's Island. Namely because I just cannot stand the crying(sensitive ears). Mind you, Yoshi's Island is easier in a sense, since you don't have a direct HP Meter.
I honestly never liked the Babies outside of Double Dash, since they mostly didn't cry and actually had a fun Item with the Chain Chomp they introduced. Baby Park was a mediocre course, but still.
I would prefer Yoshi went without the Babies, to be honest. They should still be Trophies, of course. Possibly add some other Babies to the Trophy list, like the rest from the Yoshi's Island DS game.
Shadow?I like him. The games he's been in have all been very popular. And he's included in almost all the spin-offs. I say he's definitely important enough.
Also, I like him, and I'm sure plenty of others do too. You're generalizing off very little evidence.
I always liked babies as a kid...Pretty sure I'm not the only one.

I like Baby Mario as well, but I don't think he should ride Yoshi's back- even if it is cosmetic.
This reminds me, one thing they did with Yoshi that I liked was how in Brawl he stands more upright as opposed to looking like he did in Super Mario World.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaNo, I mean how they made have that hideous artstyle because Nintendo believes Yoshis Story is the Magnum Opus of the series for some unfathomable reason.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMI don't mind him in the Yoshi games where he belongs, or Partners in Time because Time Travel. Where I do hate him is Mario Kart/other sports games for being a filler character.
Mario Kart Wii was the worst at this. Four baby characters. FOUR. And one of them was made up for the game (Baby Daisy), so that one was truly a filler character.
You know, he's listed under The Scrappy for a reason.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMI liked the concept. I liked overlapping people and how it had like 7 laps. And it did get pretty chaotic, like how Bowser's shell would go over the barrier in the center.
Same here.
Actually, Yoshi's Island's artstyle was pastel crayons, not watercolour paintings.
It's reminiscent of Yoshi's Story for the psuedo-3D artstyle. It's freakin hideous.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMEh, it's the internet. Kinda irrelevant to the broader picture. That goes double for TvTropes, and triple for those kind of highly subjective articles. I'm 100% certain there's people who like him, anyway.
Oh, crayons? Yeah, mixed that up.

It's got the same crayon-drawn art style as the first game that the second kind of abandoned. It's just in 3D now. Kinda wonky-looking, but not terrible.
pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSIt doesn't even look like crayon, it looks like watercolour like Cassidy said

And it's hideous.

It is hideous.
If Yoshi's Island is gonna ditch sprites it should either have hand-drawn graphics or be cel-shaded.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyM@Magcargo Man: I meant that the literal course itself felt mediocre. I like the actual hazards to be course-based. But I'm also more of a fan of having a regular 3 Laps unless you set the laps higher as is. I get what you mean, though. It can be really ridiculous in a fun way.
And I thought Yoshi's Story was on the Wii VC myself. I must've remembered wrong. I have the original, and it's a really fun game, IMO. I don't mind either game's artstyle, but I do like the actual way to win in YS myself. I prefer the whole collectathon style to it. Yoshi's Island feels less like its own series and more like a slightly different Mario platformer. Not saying it's a bad game, because it's good too, but it doesn't feel different enough. I'd recommend both, of course.
Also, from a little back, Yoshi's Ground Pound has some other differences too. It has a disjointed hitbox when it releases some stars after he hits the ground. Bowser doesn't have this at all. He just had a full hitbox. For those who don't know what disjointed means, it means a hitbox that isn't literally connected to the body. For instance, Marth's sword itself isn't connected. So hitting it doesn't deal him damage or cause knockback. Hitting a regular hitbox would do one or both of those things.
Shadow?Having played Mario games all my life, I couldn't agree less with that statement.
Well it'd be weird if hitting Marth's sword caused damage to Marth, wouldn't it?

Yes, because as you know, being hideous is a completely objective thing that something either has or doesn't.
I think it's going to look just fine once we see it in motion.
Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.

Yoshi's Island's art is not quite as good-looking all 3D-like, but it's still fine.
The problem with Yarn Yoshi is that there's no Baby Mario on his back. That kind of takes away from the experience. And the stages we've seen look boring.
@Midna: They wouldn't need to keep that, I don't think. Maybe when Yoshi's stunned or something, Baby Mario would cry in his bubble, but it should return automatically afterwards.
